New and Renovated Properties: June 2021

A glance at select meeting venue openings and renovations from the past month.

GREECE

The Banyan Tree Group’s first flagship property in Europe, Angsana Corfu Resort & Spa, opens June 15. The new luxury resort offers 159 guest rooms, suites and 37 one- to four-bedroom pool villas.

SOUTH KOREA

Daegu
The EXCO center in Daegu has debuted it’s second exhibition hall, bringing the property’s total to more than 320,000 square feet of exhibition space.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

California

The Westin Anaheim Resort has debuted as the brand’s first new build in Southern California in more than 25 years. The property includes 618 guest rooms and more than 47,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor meetings and event space.

The Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine has completed a property-wide, $10 million renovation. The venue offers 400 guest rooms and suites and 42,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.

Colorado

The Sheraton Denver Downtown, the largest hotel in Denver, has finished an $80 million renovation of their 1,238 guest rooms and 133,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space.

Delaware

The Riverfront Park & Amphitheater is scheduled to open in July 2021 in Wilmington’s Convention District. This 6.6-acre urban green space can accommodate more than 6,000 people.

The Aloft Wilmington at Coastline Center, a 125-room property with a 7,000 square-foot ballroom is set to open in late summer 2021.

Florida

This summer, Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek will make its debut converting from Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek in Florida.

The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village has debuted a renovation with brand-new guestrooms.

Georgia

Atlanta’s newest hotel project, Signia by Hilton Atlanta, has broken ground at the Georgia World Congress Center yesterday afternoon. The 975-room hotel will overlook Mercedes-Benz stadium and offer 75,000 square feet of meeting space when it opens in late 2023.

Illinois

The Pendry Chicago has opened as a reimagination of the iconic 1920s-era Carbide & Carbon Building, with 364 newly redesigned guestrooms and suites.

SpringHill Suites Chicago Chinatown, the first hotel of its kind to hit Chicago’s Chinatown, has officially opened its doors with 148 suites.

Indiana

The $30 million, 90-room Hotel Indy will open its doors in October 2021 in the former State Life Insurance building.

Massachusetts

The 416-room Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton Boston Seaport is now open with 10 unique meeting spaces totaling more than 6,000 square feet, including two outdoor decks.

Michigan

West Bay Beach, a Delamar Resort, in Traverse City, is finishing a property-wide transformation and name change following a $10 million+ two-year renovation. Rebranded as Delamar Traverse City, the 173-room waterfront hotel offers 4,000 square feet of meeting space.

New York

The $1.5 billion Jacob K. Javits Convention Center expansion has been completed, adding 1.2 million square feet of event space to the massive property in Manhattan's West Side.

The Grand Adirondack Hotel on Lake Placid’s Main Street opens this fall.

Texas

The former Wyndham San Antonio River Walk is getting a $50 million overhaul to be transformed into a 390-room InterContinental hotel in early 2023.

Wyoming

The Cloudveil, an Autograph Collection hotel, debuted last month in the heart of Jackson Hole. The property boasts 100 guest rooms and suites and 7,500 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting and event space.
