What do you hope attendees to your session will take away from it?

I am hoping that attendees will realize the importance of being in control of your professional brand and that they walk away with some tips that they can incorporate immediately to elevate their professional brand.

What are some of the major challenges with personal branding right now?

Brands historically have been tied to celebrities, athletes, companies and high-performing executives. However, social media has changed that. Now, by design or default, everyone has a personal brand. People are making judgments and assumptions about whom you are before meeting you in person. Your personal brand is your reputation and legacy. It’s how you are seen by others and what they expect of you. Your brand also gives you the intention and strategy to build personal and professional goals. When you take control of your personal brand it becomes a powerful tool for future success.

Are there ways in which successful personal branding differs for meeting professionals?

Professional digital branding includes using the proper keywords so that you show up in SEO searches. This means that meeting professionals need to be up to speed with the keywords that are relevant to the industry and their online profiles need to be optimized so that they can show up in searches. In addition to keywords, they need to ensure that their personal brand speaks to their areas of expertise and whom their target audience is so that they can stand apart in a competitive market.
