I joined MPI as a student through Mount Royal College. They encouraged me to join MPI, as did my father-in-law, who was a member of MPI many years ago. He told me, “If you ever get a chance to join MPI, do it.” I did, and I am so glad about that decision.

I love making new friends through MPI networking opportunities and using in my own events the new skills that I have learned at educational sessions. The MPI community is not competitive, but supportive. I can always bounce ideas and ask for expert advice from the people that I have met through MPI.

Other than my love of event planning, I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, hosting game nights, and attending concerts and expos

While the world was shut down due to Covid, I made the decision to go back to school and pursue my passion. With a strong scheduling and management background and a love for creating events, I new it was a perfect fit. In August 2020 I took the NAIT Event Management Program where I graduated with Honours of Distinction.

That same month I became a member of the MPI Greater Edmonton Chapter and signed up to volunteer. From being a Volunteer Member to sitting on the Board of Directors for three terms, my chapter has provided me the invaluable resources for my continued professional development, to grow and strengthen my network. I love being a part of such a vibrant community of event professionals and blessed to have made some special friendships along the way.

I love spending time with my family and friends every chance I can, love my Flames, my Packers, listening to my podcasts, my Vinyl collection, nature walks and spending time in my garden.

Passion and purpose are the driving forces behind everything that I do.  With over 20 years of experience in events, sponsorships, marketing, and customer service, I developed a passion for relationship-building, for creating memorable experiences that allow clients to tell their stories and engage with customers.

Being a member of MPI has allowed me to connect with like-minded individuals as well look for opportunities to build strategic partnerships between the chapter and the local event industry.

When I am not traveling between Montreal (where I am originally from) and Edmonton, you can find me planning my next trip or researching local new foodie hangouts.

When not at work she loves spending time with her little yorkie, Coco and her family.  She enjoys going to concerts and live events, getting immersed in nature and traveling as much as possible.  Jennifer is a total wanderlust and always strives to have future trips booked to look forward to.  Oh yes…and she's a sucker for a good silent auction!
