Calli Anderson

Calli is an Event Coordinator at La Cité Francophone. She is bilingual in both English and French, having received her bilingual diploma. Calli joined MPI as a student member while taking classes at NAIT for the Event Management Certificate. Eventually, Calli would like to own her own wedding planning business, but right now she is happy to be learning lots about the events industry in her position at La Cité Francophone.

Arlene Schilke

Arlene is the founder of Timewise and a partner with Event Technology Solutions and Event Supply Canada. This year Timewise celebrates its 20th year in business! She is a true industry ambassador, a mentor to many rising stars and recently finished two terms as President of the our MPI Greater Edmonton Chapter. She was named one of the top event professionals to follow on Snapchat by Canadian Special Events Magazine (follow her to get a glance of her #eventprofs life) and is very active on social media. On 2018 Arlene was the only entrepreneur in Canada to be awarded the Top 40 Over 40 by SPIN as well as Entrepreneur Award by Alberta Women Entrepreneurs. Her legacy includes the creation & production of the Edmonton & Calgary Event Awards and GO WEST LIVE, the largest gathering of event professionals in Western Canada. She is a mom of 4 energetic and creative kids, always on the run with her Apple Watch, managing her business, household and a husband! She is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), loves technology and is a big foodie always searching for the new #yeg restaurants, cafés and bars.

Sam Khosla

With over 20 years in the events and hospitality industry, Sam shares his strong passion for the community as an active member in both MPI and ILEA. As a Production Manager at invert720, he works with clients and meeting planners to help bring their dreams to reality. Sam spent his first 10 years in the industry working in hotels through various positions which later evolved into his focus on live event audio visual production. In 2007, Sam made the move from Saskatoon to Edmonton to take on new challenges. He spent 5 years as Manager of Audio Visual Events for Sharps Audio Visual out of the Shaw Conference Centre before moving on to his next challenge as a Production/Account Manager at Mediaco/FMAV. In his free time, Sam likes to travel with his family and take staycations to work on his “honey-do-list” for his lovely wife, Shayroz. Sam has a passion for many sports - both playing and watching, and even has his black strip belt in Mixed Martial Arts!

Lars Erickson

Lars Erickson is the Director of Business Development at Special Event Rentals. Prior to this, he owned a catering company in Cold Lake, Alberta. He is passionate about the events industry and has served on the local ILEA board and is currently serving on the Event Rentals Special Interest Group for the American Rental Association. In his spare time he loves to fish, garden and cook.

Lisa Dayanandan

While "events" has never appeared in her job title, Lisa has always held a responsibility for creating exciting, engaging experiences for her stakeholders. Some of these have included training events, conferences, celebrations, weddings, and fundraisers (big and small). Lisa has spent the past 15 years in the non profit sector, building relationships and supporting change. She loves getting to know people and understanding what makes them excited and engaged. Currently, Lisa feels truly privileged to be a part of the Bissell Centre family, working directly with donors and supporters to end poverty in our great city.

Christine Dimler

For over 10 years Christine has planned and managed a multitude of events on the corporate side of The Oasis Centre in Edmonton. Born and raised in Germany, Christine has a dynamic background in theater, community engagement, and the service industry, and spent many years traveling the world immersing herself in other cultures and traditions. This unique foundation, coupled by a sincere love for her job, meeting people, and creating memorable events, has played a key role in her success as both conference director and event manager. As well as taking care of all of the small details and logistics that give our events the foundation to enable a seamless execution, a keystone of Christine's role is discovering event dreams and requirements to make visions become real. As a professional, she is always learning new ways to apply cutting edge ideas while making sure our clients and guests are happy. A big part of what makes The Oasis Centre special is their cohesive team of high-level professionals, innovators, creatives, and productive workers. Handling the full-spectrum of event production, from AV requirements to aligning external resources such as catering and other specific requirements, allows their clients to relax in the comfort of knowing their needs are taken care of and operations are running smoothly. Specialties: corporate meetings, seminars, awards, galas, weddings, concerts, AGM’s, Christmas parties, fundraisers, anniversaries, birthdays, memorials, exams, educational events and tradeshows.

Genevieve Meckley

Genevieve is the Corporate as well as the Sport Sales Manager at the River Cree Resort & Casino. She has been with the property since April 2018, making her venture from downtown to the west end of the city. The River Cree Resort & Casino is situated on a 49-acre estate, and features opulent accommodations, a casino, two full-size NHL hockey rinks and a heated indoor pool. It also features 7 on-site dining options and and event venue hosting various shows and concerts throughout the year. The luxury hotel's amenities in Edmonton are designed to provide the ultimate destination whether traveling for business or leisure.

Amanda Sigaty

Amanda Sigaty is the event planner for NorQuest College but has been creating fun and unique events for over 20 years. Amanda’s background working with government, non profit organizations and post secondary institutes has been instrumental in her experience and success in both event planning and program management. Amanda is a Volunteer Management graduate and enjoys DIY projects for both home and work. Amanda has a passion for interior design and loves opportunities to incorporate design elements in events which tell a story and offer interesting experiences for attendees.

Tarcy Schindelka

Tarcy began his career in entertainment back in 1992, in high school. He spent many years DJing important events like weddings, galas, and company parties. Throughout many of those years, he was also working full-time in radio, entertaining sports fans and morning show listeners in a number of markets in western Canada. When he and his family landed in Edmonton, they started Advanced Entertainment (aka Advanced DJ Services) to continue the work that he had been doing for years, for others. Advanced has been in business since 2007, and has grown to include all aspects of party entertainment needs. Besides providing soundtracks to important events, they also provide Fun Money Casinos, Photobooths, Comedians/Hypnotists, fun games like Music Poker, Bounce Houses, and Character appearances. We look forward to working with the best in the industry to provide unbelievable experiences for clients!

Mandy Moon

Mandy is a Business Development Account Manager for the Meetings & Conventions team at Edmonton Tourism. She loves working with partners to position Edmonton as an amazing host city for conferences, meetings and events of all sizes. Prior to this she was part of the Edmonton Convention Centre team and had worked for Fairmont and Delta Hotels. Mandy holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Hospitality and Tourism Management and is passionate about the meetings and events industry. "There is nothing better than meeting face to face and bringing all types of people together. Genuine connections are the currency in the relationship economy and when we meet, we create an environment to become a catalyst for change." Mandy's background has always been in food and beverage operations but she will always remember the moment she knew she wanted to get into events. "I was a banquet server and I remember the the first time I worked my first wedding event. The bride was SO happy she burst into tears, hugged and thanked her Event Manager for helping her through such a stressful process in making her special day perfect. I was so touched and thought to myself, yes I want to be that person that helps people feel that way". "I absolutely adore the meetings and events industry. We learn so much from each other, our peers, and industry partners and when we come together in a knowledge sharing space we create a voice together as event professionals. Let's not forget the incredible total economic impact that our industry brings to the table." In Mandy's spare time she loves to cook, take pictures of food, snowboard and is training for her second degree black belt in Taekwondo.

Alannah Dean

Alannah is currently finishing her Event Management program at NAIT this year. She started Addapea Productions, a company in which she organizes events that promote sustainability and empowerment to the people! Through Addapea Producitons, she promotes local businesses and encourages a greener lifestyle.

Monica Zeniuk

Monica Zeniuk has been in hospitality 30+ years, mostly in Banff as the first female tour bus driver for Pacific Western Transportation & Brewster Transport; and 20+ years in hotel sales, 16 of those at the Coast Edmonton Plaza Hotel by APA. She was appointed to the Lakeland Regional Health Authority & East Central Health board by former Premier Stelmach in 2003. Monica is a 15 year member of Babes Without Babes- women over 35 without children- who actively fundraise for WINGS of Providence. Every Monday she is at the Edmonton Valley Zoo as a volunteer zookeeper tending to red pandas, hyrax, wallabies and primates. She and her husband have adopted the Red Panda exhibit in perpetuity. She served 6 years with the Valley Zoo Development Society board finishing as Vice President. Monica has been the recipient of the following awards: 8 Year Platinum Awarded Sales Manager – Coast Hotels 2003 crowned Mrs. Canada International 2012 first MPI Ecos award winner 2013 first Coast Hotels CSR award recipient 2014 MPI Planner of the Year 2018 Governor General’s Sovereign Award for Volunteerism 2019 Supearlative Philanthropy Award from Womanition Magazine

Terri Nielsen

Terri is a passionate hospitality professional with a background in travel, hotels and tourism. Terri started her career in the travel industry, working as a travel agent and travel manager in Canada's north, Iqaluit, Nunavut. Shortly after moving to Edmonton in 2005, she started her career in hotels, as a sales manager and then Director of Sales. Ever interested in Tourism, in 2016, she moved into the tourism world with Edmonton Tourism and very recently taking a position with the Wood Buffalo Economic Development Corporation as Economic Development Officer, Meetings and Conventions. When Terri isn't working, she and her husband love fast cars, movies and spending time with our extended family all over western Canada. Fun Fact about Terri, when she lived in Iqaluit, Nunavut, she opened, managed and was the morning show personality of Nunavut's first ever commercial radio station.

Caitlin McElhone

Caitlin McElhone, Bsc., CMP Owner & Logistics Queen @ CM Events Passionate about lifestyle, urban living and executing memorable experiences through events, Caitlin is known for her leadership, creativity, hyper-organizational skills and passion for the events industry. Caitlin studied Marketing through the School of Business and Clothing & Textile Design at the University of Alberta where her passion for design grew and she was exposed to the events industry for the first time. From there she worked full time with one of Edmonton's leading event planning companies, ComLinks Events, where she was fortunate to be involved with and lead planner on many incredible projects locally, Nationally and Internationally. Since opening CM Events in 2011, Caitlin has coordinated & executed many incredible events for local not-for-profits and corporate clients in Edmonton, including: Global TV Woman of Vision Luncheon, Parkland School Division Milestone and Merits, Rotary Roast for Mayor Mandel, numerous conferences and workshops for NAIT, Brian Webb Dance Company Art Auction, RISE Awards for EMCN and the award-winning CASA Carnival Gala just to name a few. Awarded Planner of the Year by MPI (Meeting Planners International) Edmonton Chapter and winning Edmonton’s Best Fundraising Gala two years in a row (Edmonton Event Awards), Caitlin is known for creating outstanding event experiences that raise necessary funds needed and keep guests coming back! She was also instrumental in forming the ILEA (International Live Events Association) Chapter in Edmonton and sat on the ILEA Board for over seven years (including as President). Caitlin has also developed four courses for the NAIT Event Management program (EVMT) and enjoys teaching and sharing her experiences with students and industry professionals. Passionate about Edmonton and getting involved with the community, Caitlin is an active supporter of local arts, festivals and the farmers market. She lives, works and plays in downtown Edmonton with her husband Scott and their two sons.
