Why did you join MPI and what do you love most about your experience with the organization?
I joined MPI because of the established professional relationships and connections within the industry. What I love most is the sense of community and partnership that comes with being part of the organization. It’s an opportunity to connect with others, learn from one another, and build relationships that extend beyond just networking.
How did you get your start in the industry?
My first industry job was as an Office Assistant with Delaware North at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center, now the Amica Mutual Pavilion. I worked on the food and beverage side of events, and it was an incredible introduction to the industry. In fact, my very first day was a WWE event, and I walked right past John Cena. It was definitely a memorable way to start my career!

What is the best career advice you've received?
There are a few pieces of advice that come to mind, but one that has really stayed with me is to put people first. We all have different emotions, experiences, and responsibilities both inside and outside of work. You have to take the time to understand the people you work with, meet them where they are, and learn how to work together effectively. When you put people first, you create an environment where everyone can be successful in their role.
What is the most memorable event you have planned or client experience you have had?
I have continued to organize the Expo each year, and it has been incredibly rewarding to watch it grow and improve with each event. What started as a brand-new experience for me has become an event that I look forward to building on every year. It's also a great reminder of how much you can learn when you're willing to take on something outside of your comfort zone.
Do you have a favorite MPI event and if so, why?
Probably my first and only MPI event so far, which was held in Atlantic City. Working in a school district and essentially being a one-woman team, I sometimes feel a disconnect from the larger events industry. Attending the MPI event felt like I was back in the events world. It was refreshing to be in a room full of people who share the same passion for the industry and who genuinely understand the work, challenges, and excitement that come with it. It reminded me how much I value being connected to others who care about events as much as I do.
What is your favorite city to travel to and why?
The Florida Keys, especially Marathon, Florida. I went there for spring break as a kid and spent my days swimming in the Gulf and enjoying the slower pace of island life. It truly feels like a hidden treasure. Even the drive into the Keys, crossing the bridges with the water surrounding you, feels almost life-changing. There’s something about being there that makes you slow down, appreciate where you are, and just enjoy the moment.

If you could live anywhere on this planet and take everything that you love with you, where would you choose to live?
Ireland! I mean, my name is Erynn, how could I not? There’s something about the landscapes, the culture, the history, and the warmth of the people that has always drawn me in. If I could pack up everything and take everything I love with me, Ireland would be at the top of my list.
What three words describe you best?
I’ve always said the letter E stands for “Everything you need” — extra loving, extra kind, extra funny, and always willing to go the extra mile. I bring that same energy and passion into my work and the relationships I build along the way.
Describe your perfect day off?
To do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, lol with my fiancé
