Professional/Career Questions

Why did you join MPI and what do you love most about your experience with the organization?

When I started working at Stark & Stark my supervisor recommended I join the organization. I was thrilled

to learn about an organization for event planners. The thing I have loved most so far is going over the

website and seeing the fantastic events and news articles that help me learn and grow in my career.

How did you get your start in the industry?

I started working in legal in 2016 as a paralegal. The firm I was at had an opening for an event coordinator

a year in and I found what I was truly passionate in. Creating wonderful events for amazing, hard-working

people!

What is the best career advice you've received?

It is an odd one but when I was in college a professor did a course on ethics. He said the first day we will go through a course but what all this will come down to is when you make a mistake acknowledge you made the mistake, apologize for it, and fix the issue and promise it will never happen again.

What is the most memorable event you have planned or client experience you have had?

I one time did an offsite event at the Wynn in Las Vegas. It was one of the first events I did without a supervisor watching over. We had a plan to have An Evening in Havana on the pool deck at the Wynn. We ended up having to move the event inside due to extreme wind conditions. I was extremely proud of how calm I remained in the situation and made sure that all items were moved and fit the event and we were able to still have a successful event with more people then we expected attending.

Do you have a favorite MPI event and if so, why?

I have not gotten to attend an in person event yet. I am excited for the MEETS conference and the WEC

congress in St. Louis. I did get to be in the Coaching cohort sponsored by the Visit Dallas and the MPI

Academy and that was an extremely eye opening and fulfilling lesson I was happy to take part in.

What is your favorite city to travel to and why?

My favorite way to travel is on a cruise. I am a huge Royal Caribbean fan. I love having everything I need

paid for on a ship and going and seeing multiple areas. Coco Cay a private island in the Bahamas is the

best place in the world!

What is your favorite book?

The Outsiders

If you were stranded on a desert island, what 3 items would you bring with you?

Deck of cards, poker chips, and a poker table

If you could meet any historical figure, who would you choose and why?

Franklin D. Roosevelt. He was my favorite president to learn about in high school and I'd love to see how he

was in person.

If you could live anywhere on this planet and take everything that you love with you, where would you choose to live?
