MPIOC’s Raising our Game to become a High Performing Chapter
 
At the Awards and Installation event in June, I spoke about how our chapter is on the cusp of becoming a strong sustaining chapter. Every year MPI global gives us a report card on how we are doing compared to the bench marks set forth by the MPIOC Board of Directors and MPI Global. The chapter is just 3 points away from becoming a strong sustaining chapter, which gives us additional resources from MPI Global to better our educational events.

  With these additional resources we can improve our educational events by offering higher level speakers, provide new experiences and continue to offer EIC CEUs for CMP certification through each of the 10 domains that are presented at our educational events throughout the year.

  We need your help to finish strong as we diligently work on reaching this milestone. Here is how you can help.

1. Come to our Educational and Social Events
   • Not only will you get top notch education with EIC CEU credits for your CMP, you will also get to meet with industry peers for additional insights.
   • Personally, I have gained some great business partners over the years that have shown ROI to my employer for the investment they have put in with my membership.
2. Fill out the post event survey
   • We are here for you, our members. Let the Board of Directors and Educational Team know how we are doing by participating in this critical survey.
3. Host an Event so you can showcase your venue to our memberships buying power of $358 million.
   • Having members see what you offer is a great way to maximize your reach and potential return on your membership.
   • I’ve been at two hotels during my MPIOC tenure and both have hosted many events over the years.Each time I was able to show what the hotel can do. Often getting immediate returns, either through new leads, or ideas on how to be better, these host offerings have been beneficial.
4. Offer your expertise to support the chapter’s objectives to educate and build our community.

• The more responses we get, the better able we are to offer the programs you are looking for.

• If you know you will have some free time over the next couple of months and want to give back to the meetings and events industry, we can use your expertise for a much time as you want to give.
• Nothing says this chapter is GREAT more than the industry leaders volunteering their time and talents to showcase how much we ROCK!
• 6 years ago when I joined MPIOC I was immediately encouraged to support the chapter by giving my time and talents back to this industry. The journey since then has been exciting and eye opening. Having learned many things because of my work with MPIOC, I have been able to increase my role at my hotels. I look forward to continuing my volunteer work and learning even more over the next few years.
