Each day I live, I want to be a day to give the best of me.  I'm only one, but not alone my finest day is yet unknown  ~ Whitney Houston

Along with everything else this year has thrown at us, the holidays sure feel different.  My experience as chapter president has also been far from what I imagined it would be. It has come with new challenges and obstacles each step of the way. I presume  each past president before me has experienced this as well, but one thing I know for certain, the resilience and determination that have driven them to succeed  continues to drive and motivate me each day.  In addition, the support and dedication of your MPI Board astonishes me and is the driving force for not only me, but the entire board to give our very best.  We are not alone and with 2021 around the corner, I truly know that our best is yet to come.

Before we prepare to ring in the New Year, there is so much our chapter has to celebrate in 2020.  We had fun #nudging one another to post videos, photos, and challenges to support members with event registration assistance.  Thanks to all who participated, members can seek assistance with registration for our chapter events.  Application located on our website under “Get InvolvedMPIOC Cares! Event Assistance

Another highlight to celebrate is EDCON 2020: Resilience.  Along with our partners at MPI San Diego, I was excited to work with my fellow chapter president Spencer Bezy to host this annual event which we transitioned into a virtual experience.  To quote Jim Morris, our keynote speaker from Disney’s The Rookie, “anything is possible in life…”  That was truly the case when Dina Morales, Director of EdCon, from Dina Morales Events decided to take on this role and create a fun and unique experience for all.  I cannot thank her enough for her hard work behind the scenes and her dedication to our members.

As we take time to celebrate the season, the MPI Community and family want to celebrate YOU. MPIOC is offering membership assistance of $100.00 for membership renewal or towards a new membership.  This is a unique offer available just for Orange County members and we hope it will help as many members as it can.  Details and application can be found on our website under “Get Involved” or MPIOC Cares! Membership Assistance

So yes, while the season feels different this year, I hope the resilience, consistency and the duty of care and love from MPIOC feels the same.  Our “finest” day as a chapter is still unknown and one can’t imagine what lies in front of us in 2021.  No matter what, this year has proven that as individuals, industry peers, and MPI members, there is nothing that can hold us back.

On behalf of the MPIOC Board and myself, I wish all of you a safe and festive holiday season.  Watch out 2021, here we come!
