Hello! Bonjour!

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful summer so far.

It’s August so that means that the board is ramping up planning great education and networking events.

Here are a few of examples of what’s to come for the fall:

• The Education Committee has been working hard to bring together a great group of event professionals on September 7, over the lunch hour, to discuss the win-win for planners and suppliers. Stay tuned for registration to open if it hasn’t already.

• We will be hosting our AGM around the 22 of September, and this is free for members to join. It will be held virtually so I encourage you to participate to find out how our Chapter faired over this last year.

• Member care is planning in-person DIY in September, so keep an eye out on social for when and where to meet up. This is also free for all and a great opportunity to see how everyone’s summer was.

Site visits are being conducted for the Prix Prestige Awards Gala so stay tuned for that date and location announcement.

You will see that the nominations for the Prix Prestige Awards Gala are now open. We have so many incredible volunteers in our chapter, and I know that each of you can think of at least one planner, or supplier, a student or rising star or volunteer that deserves to be recognized.

The board nominations committee have been conducting interviews for the Director of Awards & Recognition and for the Director, Charity Auction and Community Outreach. Updates to follow there.

I want to bring to your attention some upcoming industry events taking place this month. 

CMEE is back on August 16^th and 17^th in Toronto, starting the inaugural Reveal Social on Monday, August 15^th. The MPI Foundation will be hosting a sunrise yoga each morning during CMEE.

The Foundation’s next Ottawa event is Thursday August 11^th with Full Moon Yoga. Check out our website for details and the link to donate to participate.
