MPI members report receiving the biggest return on investment for their membership dollars, from getting involved in their chapter. Help us raise that bar in MPISD – we need YOU!
Signature Events
Leads the planning and execution of MPI San Diego’s signature events, including Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) and the End-of-Year Awards, Board Installation & Holiday Dinner. These high-profile events recognize outstanding individuals, partners, and leaders within our chapter while fostering connection and celebrating the achievements of our vibrant community. This role collaborates closely with the Board, venue partners, sponsors, and volunteers to ensure a polished and impactful experience.

Networking Events
Plans and oversees MPI Mix + Mingle networking events that bring meeting and event professionals together for casual, engaging, and fun connection opportunities. These events showcase San Diego’s top venues and hospitality partners while creating a relaxed environment for relationship-building and community engagement.

Sponsorship Fulfillment
Tracks sponsor fulfillment and coordinates delivery of sponsor benefits and assets across chapter programs and events. This role also supports sponsorship outreach by helping identify new sponsors, assisting with follow-up communication, and maintaining sponsorship materials to ensure strong partner relationships and a positive sponsor experience.

Opportunity Drawing & Silent Auction
Develops and manages fundraising initiatives that support the chapter, including opportunity drawings at scheduled programs and silent auctions at Signature Events. Responsibilities include sourcing donated items, coordinating outreach to potential donors, organizing logistics, and supporting onsite execution to maximize fundraising success.

Finance Committee Member
Participates in bi-weekly Finance Committee meetings and provides support to the committee as needed. Works collaboratively with the VP of Finance and Finance Team on financial-related initiatives and tasks in alignment with MPI San Diego’s goals and priorities.

Community Outreach Committee:
Promotes the visibility of MPI and its activities through news releases and builds relationships with relevant local media. Identifies issues within the community and industry, which can benefit from our members’ support & involvement.

Work with Communication Team and administrative support to develop chapter email messaging and social media content.

Social Media Committee:
To promote and provide a presence for MPISD members on social networking sites and to use as a vehicle for promoting chapter membership, events

Website Committee:
Works with leadership and web developer to implement changes and improvements to the chapter website.

CMP Study Group Committee:
Provides an interactive forum to assist and prepare members and others for the CMP exam by administering the study group, assisting with re-certification and maintaining the chapter library.

Develops and designs all aspects of the educational chapter meetings to provide stimulating programs meeting the diverse needs of the members.

W.A.V.E. Forum Committee:
Create a stimulating and informative educational program to meet the diverse needs of the members, in alignment with the President’s vision and MPI’s Vision and Mission.

Maintains membership retention by communicating with and confirming members’ renewals and monitoring ROI for current members.
