If you are interested in getting involved on a committee, simply fill out the Volunteer Interest Form or contact the committee chair directly. MPI members report receiving the biggest return on investment for their membership dollars, from getting involved in their chapter. Help us raise that bar in MPISD – we need YOU!
Opportunity Drawings Committee:
Develops fundraising opportunities to benefit the chapter by soliciting prize donations for give-always and selling tickets during all scheduled programs.

Strategic Alliances Committee:
The overall responsibility of the Strategic Alliance committee is to develop and direct all sponsorship activities and advertising sales. The committee also identifies revenue-generating opportunities to support the chapter. It’s reaching out to the meeting & event community in San Diego to secure venues, sponsorship and advertising for our chapter throughout the year. Typically committees meet face-to-face once a month to discuss strategy and our specific responsibilities within the chapter’s business plan, but we also communicate the rest of the time through email and phone to help each other reach our committee’s and chapter’s goals.

Unplugged Committee:
Coordinates the Chapter’s fundraising efforts through the use of public entertainment events such as plays, concerts, and ‘Nothing but Net’ reception events at exciting local restaurants & venues.

Annual Gala Committee:
Plans an exciting formal attire end-of-the-year awards and recognition gala, where the incoming Board of Directors is installed for the following year.

Global Meetings Industry Day Fundraiser Committee:
Develops a fun and exciting fundraising opportunity to benefit the chapter.

Holiday Party Committee:
Develops a fun and exciting holiday event for the chapter

Community Outreach Committee:
Promotes the visibility of MPI and its activities through news releases and builds relationships with relevant local media. Identifies issues within the community and industry, which can benefit from our members’ support & involvement.

Work with Communication Team and administrative support to develop chapter email messaging and social media content.

Social Media Committee:
To promote and provide a presence for MPISD members on social networking sites and to use as a vehicle for promoting chapter membership, events

Website Committee:
Works with leadership and web developer to implement changes and improvements to the chapter website.

CMP Study Group Committee:
Provides an interactive forum to assist and prepare members and others for the CMP exam by administering the study group, assisting with re-certification and maintaining the chapter library.

Educational Programs Committee:
Develops and designs all aspects of the educational chapter meetings to provide stimulating programs meeting the diverse needs of the members.

Create a stimulating and informative educational program to meet the diverse needs of the members, in alignment with the President’s vision and MPI’s Vision and Mission.

Maintains membership retention by communicating with and confirming members’ renewals and monitoring ROI for current members.
