New and renovated properties (August-September)

A glance at select meeting venue openings and renovations from the past couple of months.

CALIFORNIA

Element by Westin, part of Marriott International, has debuted in Anaheim, Calif., with the opening of the 174-suite Element Anaheim Resort Convention Center.

Hilton’s Conrad Hotels & Resorts will debut in California with the Conrad Los Angeles opening in 2022. The 305-room hotel is part of Related Companies’ mixed-use development, The Grand LA, designed by Frank Gehry, located in downtown Los Angeles. The property will include a 16,000-square-foot rooftop terrace and 12,000 square feet of indoor meeting space.

COLORADO

The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa, proudly announces the renovation completion of the hotel’s meeting spaces, Club Lounge, Palace Arms and historic Top of The Brown Suites. The Brown Palace boasts 25,000 square feet of meeting space.

FLORIDA

Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center has opened the largest expansion in the hotel’s history following a $158 million, two-year-long project that added more than 100,000 square feet of meeting space and 306 new guest rooms. 

The Town of Palm Beach is nearing completion of a multimillion-dollar renovation of their Marina, reopening in November. The $40 million in upgrades and improvements will transform the classic docks into a world-class yacht center that will welcome so-called "superyachts."

The 156-room Bellwether Beach Resort opened this August  in St. Pete Beach, Fla, as the destination’s newest independent beachfront hotel and the first in more than 10 years. 

The Ray Hotel Delray Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton, a 141-room design-focused tropical luxury hotel, has opened, in the center of downtown Delray Beach. The rooftop, a 22,000 square-foot floating glass Cube, and 9,550 square-foot ground floor plaza makeup over 45,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor event space. 

LOUISIANA

Virgin Hotels New Orleans opened this summer.

NEW YORK

Motto by Hilton New York City Chelsea is slated to debut this fall, perched 42 stories above the iconic Chelsea neighborhood, two blocks from Madison Square Park and the Flatiron Building. 

OHIO

The Hyatt House OSU-Short North, which just opened July 28. The extended-stay hotel is ideally located just across the from R&D giant Battelle and adjacent to Columbus’ vibrant Short North Arts District, Victorian Village and The Ohio State University. The 152-room property features 104 suites and 48 den guest rooms starting at just $129/night. An impressive 2,000 square feet of flexible meeting space 

TEXAS

The Marriott Dallas Allen Hotel & Convention Center opened this summer with an aim of reinventing the travel experience for modern tastes. The hotel is connected to the Watters Creek Convention Center and offers 79,000 square feet of meeting space.

Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa, located on 405 acres of Texas landscape lining the Colorado River right outside of Austin and near the city of Bastrop, unveiled a multi-million-dollar guest room renovation. The hotel offers 434 guest rooms and 56 suites.

Later this year, the Blossom Hotel Houston will open with 267 luxury guest rooms and suites and more than 9,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event spaces.
