We Need You... To Lead our Chapter!

Your association is as strong as its most important asset – and that is YOU. As you continue your career path, consider your professional association as your home and family. MPI Sunbelt Chapter encompasses a body of collective and diverse knowledge and offers unlimited connections and opportunities.

Serving on the board can be fun, exciting, challenging and extremely rewarding. As your professional efforts progress, we ask you to consider being one of the "shapers" of the industry by becoming a leader in one of the most prominent and prestigious organizations in the event industry. This is your chance to contribute to the growth and professionalism of our chapter.

The Association's greatest strength lies in its members. Leaders from the membership are essential in keeping MPI and the Sunbelt Chapter relevant in the industry.

If you are willing to make a serious commitment to our membership, then I encourage you to complete the 2023-24 Board of Directors Application.

The application must be returned no later than December 15, 2022.

Timeline for nomination process:
Nominations Open - October 28, 2022
Nominations close - December 15, 2022
Interviews - December 19, 2022 to January 12, 2023
Committee meeting- January 12-16, 2023 (based on our schedules)
Present slate to BOD - January 17, 2023
Contact Candidates - January 18-19, 2023
Present to Membership for 30 days - January 21-February 21, 2023
Submit to Global - February 22, 2023

The officers and directors represent the voice of the chapter's membership. To ensure that the Board has the vision and the ability to provide the membership with a variety of benefits including opportunities for learning, building relationships, and growing their businesses, it is required that the Board collectively possess the following traits:

With this in mind, please answer the following questions, which illustrate your ideas for the future growth, direction and development of the MPI AZ Chapter.

Time Commitment: Regular attendance at monthly meetings, chapter activities and functions, attendance at Board meetings and retreats.

Attendance at the two Annual MPI Board Retreats is required to be considered for 2023-24 term. The annual retreat will be in June, 2023. The date for mid-year retreat has not yet been confirmed, but will likely be in early November 2023 (Sunday/Monday pattern). If you have a special circumstance as to why you would not be able to attend, please let us know below.

Involvement: List your committees, board, and/or special event involvements in MPI during your membership.

Awards: List any awards or professional recognition received during your experience in the meetings industry, or expand on any other allied professional organizations or civic roles that you actively support.
