Community Outreach

MPI AZ's Community Outreach Committee comes together to create projects, organize collection drives, and provide outlets for volunteerism with local charities. We will be supporting multiple charities throughout the 2018-2019 year. Be sure to follow us on social media for updates on the monthly charitable project.

October 2018 -- House of Refuge: Gift Wrap

  • At the October Networking mixer, we will be collecting Gift Wrap for the House of Refuge. Wrapping paper should be new and can be for adults or children. This is an ongoing need around the holidays for them.

November 2018 -- House of Refuge: Gift Wrap/Parent Holiday Gifts

  • We will be collecting Gift Wrap and Parent Holiday Gifts for the House of Refuge. Wrapping paper should be new and can be for adults or children. Children love giving gifts to their parents for the holiday and that is one of the biggest needs for the House of Refuge this year.
    • Suggested Parent Gifts are: cool calendars, tumblers/mugs, retail/restaurant/coffee shop gift cards, spa basket items, house shoes/slippers, journals, board games, gardening tools/gloves, scrapbooking materials.

December 2018 -- Arizona Helping Hands: Toy Drive

  • In conjunction with the Holiday Party, we will be collecting toys for Arizona Helping Hands. Specifically, toys for boys and girls aged 1-2 years old and 6-12 years old are needed.
    • Suggested toys are: early learning toys, coloring books/crayons, building blocks/sets, board games, dolls, arts and craft materials, puzzles, science kits.

February 2019 -- Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels: Comfycozys

  • One of our favorite organizations to support is Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels/ComfyCozys.
They provide Comfycozys Care Packs when pediatric chemo patients get their port placed, a comfort pack while they're in the hospital, and a No More Chemo Party Bag when they finish treatment.
    • Suggested items to donate include: puzzle books, activity books, coloring books/crayons, board games, toys, stocking caps, fuzzy socks.

May 2019 -- Maggie's Place: Supplies Drive

  • We will collect items on the Ongoing Needs list for Maggie's Place.
    • Suggested items to donate include:
      • Cleaning supplies: Dish soap, all-purpose cleaners, toilet and window cleaners, kitchen trash bags
      • Laundry supplies: free and clear laundry soap, baby laundry detergent, stain remover, laundry baskets
      • Women's toiletries: personal hygiene items, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, body wash
      • Infant toiletries: shampoo, body wash, lotion
