Global Convention Services Ltd. expands into new territory with Calgary location

Tuesday, August 13, 2019

SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Global Convention Services Ltd. “Global” is proud to announce its entrance into the Alberta market with the acquisition of Calgary’s GAZ Exhibits Inc. “GAZ”.

Global is one of Canada’s leading trade show and special event decorating contractors and continues to grow rapidly. The new Calgary location becomes Global’s seventh full-service location following the 2011 and 2018 expansions into Abbotsford and Victoria, B.C., respectively. The latest acquisition further establishes Global as a coast-to-coast event service provider strategically located to work with nationwide event organizers.

“When we first discussed the potential of working with George and Pamela Ziwani by acquiring GAZ, I was very impressed with the company they had built from scratch,” explains Mark Howes, president, Global Convention Services Ltd. “George and Pamela built a family business and worked diligently to get to where they are today. The values that have contributed to their success and customer loyalty are aligned with what has built Global into one of Canada’s leading trade show decorators. We look forward to infusing new inventory, resources, and people into GAZ’s current business model, and working together to extend these enhanced services to events throughout Alberta.”

GAZ Founder George Ziwani will be joining the Global family, bringing his expertise, inventory and loyal customer base to the role of operations manager for Alberta.

“As I approach 40 years in the trade show decorating, exhibit install, and special event decor industry, I look back on all I have accomplished. It has been an exciting ride and I have enjoyed building GAZ with my wife, Pamela. I look forward to this next chapter; the opportunity to join Global and their nationwide network is an excellent development for our staff and valued customers.”
