Dear Members, Chapter Sponsors and Supporters,

As I step into the role of President of the MPI BC Chapter in 2026, I am both honoured and energized by the opportunity to serve this exceptional community of meeting and event professionals.

Our industry is at a pivotal moment. Technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence is rapidly reshaping how we design, plan, market, and deliver events. As a chapter, our goal is to equip our members with the right tools and learning opportunities to use these technologies efficiently and strategically—enhancing human connection rather than replacing it.

British Columbia is uniquely positioned on the global stage, and the years ahead present extraordinary opportunities. With the FIFA World Cup coming to Vancouver, we have a once-in-a-generation chance to showcase our city, our province, and our expertise to the world. This is more than a sporting event—it is a powerful moment for our industry. A chance to welcome global audiences, demonstrate the impact of world-class meetings and events, and highlight the professionalism, innovation, and hospitality that define our community.

In 2026, our chapter will focus on connection, professional growth, and meaningful impact. We are committed to:

• Supporting members as they navigate emerging technologies, including AI, through relevant education and dialogue
• Strengthening engagement and ensuring every member feels welcomed, valued, and inspired to participate
• Developing inclusive leadership and volunteer pathways that reflect the diversity of our industry
• Building partnerships that amplify our collective voice locally and globally—especially as the world’s eyes turn to Vancouver
  

MPI BC has always been more than a professional association. It is a community where ideas spark action, where careers are shaped, and where relationships create lasting impact.
