MPI is a member organization of the Events Industry Council (EIC), the global federation that administers the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credential. Recognized worldwide as the premier certification in the meetings and events industry, the CMP designation signifies a high standard of professional competence and commitment to excellence. Candidates must meet eligibility requirements based on industry experience and continuing education before successfully completing a comprehensive examination administered by EIC.

Need Education Clock Hours?

As an MPI member benefit, eligible education sessions and learning activities may qualify for clock hours toward the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credential. Clock hour requirements and calculations are governed by the Events Industry Council (EIC). For detailed information on CMP eligibility and clock hour requirements, please visit the EIC website.

There are two ways to report earned clock hours:

  • Live Events: Have your badge scanned at the entrance of each session to receive credit. Eligible clock hours will be automatically added to your Member Transcript within 2–3 weeks.
  • Webinars: Clock hours earned through webinars must be manually added to your Member Transcript.
