Host a Future MPI Heartland Meeting!

The MPI Heartland Chapter is devoted to helping our members be their best by building connections to knowledge, ideas, relationships and marketplaces. The Heartland Chapter is made up of meeting planners and suppliers in Iowa and Nebraska who come together to connect, learn and explore unique venues for future business opportunities. We are currently searching for venues for Fiscal Year 2021-2022 to host our bi-monthly meetings.

Meeting Dates

The following outlines the months and locations of our meetings, but we ask you to provide the dates within those months that work best for your facility to host our group.

September 2021 – Des Moines/ Iowa Area
November 2021 + Board Retreat – Omaha/ Lincoln/ Council Bluffs Area (Need 2 consecutive days during the week)
January 2022 – Des Moines/ Iowa Area
April 7, 2022 *Global Meetings Industry Day* – Omaha/ Lincoln/ Council Bluffs Area
May 2022 (Annual Meeting) + Board Retreat – Omaha/Lincoln/Council Bluffs/Nebraska
July 2022 -- Des Moines/ Iowa Area

Meeting Site

As a chapter, we are always looking for unique locations that our members can utilize for future events, from hotels and convention centers to attractions and restaurants and more. We want to highlight your facility and help you to grow your business. We ask the following from your facility:
No meeting room rental fee to be charged
Complimentary AV as needed
Courtesy sleeping room block at a discounted rate for any attendees (November and May meetings)

Meeting Timeframe

The meeting room needs to be available from 10 am to 2 pm on the day of the meeting. In the months of November & May, we also ask for a small meeting room for about 14 people the day prior or after the meeting for our Board meeting, usually 9am-4:30 pm.

Meeting Day/Month

Venues are welcome to submit interest for any of the months listed above in their area. MPI Heartland is open to discussion on which day of the week works best for your property. Typically, these meetings are held during the second or third week of the month.

Meeting Meal

We ask that the meal be provided complimentary. If the meal cannot be provided complimentary, provide the best rate available inclusive (our budget is $15/person inclusive).

Meeting Attendance

Typical general meetings range in size from 35 to 50 people. The Annual Meeting has brought over 60 people. We are also open to hybrid formats where the in-person attendance is smaller with a virtual audience connected through AV stream.

Benefits to Venue

Venue will have 1 complimentary admission to the meeting and have the opportunity to speak in front of the group for up to 2 minutes. Marketing materials can be placed on the tables regarding your property. You are welcome to offer tours of your facility after the Chapter Business Meeting, to help showcase your location. Host venue will also have a ½ page ad in the digital format of the MPI Heartland Chapter newsletter. This ad will have the ability to link to a URL of the sponsor's choice as additional opportunity for promotion.

Announcement of locations will be made at the Annual Meeting on May 5, 2021, in Des Moines, IA.
