AWARD CRITERIA
- The 2026 fiscal year is from Jan – Dec 2026 All events, programs and activities must have occurred within these dates to be eligible for an award.
- The nominated entity (organization, individual, etc.) must have representation and good standing in the MPI Michigan Chapter
THE AWARDS
- Kristina Kauffman Industry Cheerleader Award: Displays their support of the meeting and event industry and is a positive influence through their work
- Maryellen Jansen Education Leadership Award: Pursues higher excellence through designations, certifications, education and/or chapter leadership
- Planner of the Year: Showcases innovation of planning and successful execution of a meeting or event in last year
- Rising Star Award: 5 or less years in the meeting and event industry who has shown exemplary leadership and contributions
- Venue of the Year: Creatively utilizes their space for meetings and/or events
- Volunteer of the Year Award: Person who has gone above and beyond in their volunteer MPI role, positive impact
AWARD TIMELINE
- Award nominations open Thursday, October 8, 2026.
- Award nominations close on Tuesday, November 10, 2026.
- Awardees will be recognized at the Celebration! Gala. MPI Michigan Chapter members from across our Great Lakes State will celebrate the spirit of leadership, impact, and innovation on Tuesday, December 1, 2026 at Celebration! in Detroit, MI where nominees will be recognized!
