MPI New Jersey Member Certifications

Our membership has been resourceful during the pandemic and many have used the enforced downtime to learn new skills or enhance existing strengths.  The meetings industry has offered additional certification opportunities in all aspects of planning including logistics, registration, virtual and hybrid events.  In addition, training and certifications are now available in new skills that will be helpful to the meetings industry as we return to live meetings post-pandemic.

MPI-NJ  strives to connect industry leaders with specific needs with our members who offer the service and/or credentials needed.  We contacted our members to ask them to share  their skills and certifications and the responses are below.  All members listed on this page are willing to be contacted for services and/or assistance related to these certifications.

Certified TIPS Trainer tips logo

This training course, focuses on various issues specifically related to serving alcohol at restaurants, hotels, bars, and other establishments, which can also include private parties and on-premise liquor license holders where alcohol is served by the drink. Valid for three years upon completion, the course covers such topics as how to prevent intoxication, underage drinking, and drunk driving among those to whom alcohol is sold or served.

Covid-19 Compliance Officer (CCO) hes

As film, commercial, music video, and photo shoots begin to open up across the country, a need has emerged for a new crew position: COVID-19 Compliance Officer (CCO). 

Shoots are often places where food is shared, people work closely with one another, and social distancing is often not possible. We have designed this non-union class to inform producers, coordinators, production assistants, and 1st ADs about on-set protocols related to COVID-19 as well as provide tools and resources for the new COVID-19 Compliance Officer (CCO) position.

John Hopkins COVID-19 Tracing Coursera 1

The COVID-19 crisis has created an unprecedented need for contact tracing across the country, requiring thousands of people to learn key skills quickly. The job qualifications for contact tracing positions differ throughout the country and the world, with some new positions open to individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent.

In this introductory course, students will learn about the science of SARS-CoV-2 , including the infectious period, the clinical presentation of COVID-19, and the evidence for how SARS-CoV-2 is transmitted from person-to-person and why contact tracing can be such an effective public health intervention. Students will learn about how contact tracing is done, including how to build rapport with cases, identify their contacts, and support both cases and their contacts to stop transmission in their communities. The course will also cover several important ethical considerations around contact tracing, isolation, and quarantine. Finally, the course will identify some of the most common barriers to contact tracing efforts -- along with strategies to overcome them.
