Golf Day / AGM & Kick Off 2018

The 2018 Annual MPI Ottawa Chapter Golf Tournament / AGM & Kick-Off took place on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Pine View Golf Course located 10 minutes from Downtown Ottawa.

The day started with networking at the club house as golfers registered and had a light snack. Prior to the start committee member Brian Henry of Quality Entertainment, welcomed the group with some motivational words and thanked the sponsors as well as host venue. Henry also outlined the rules for the golf tournament. Just over 60 golfers headed out on a Shot Gun Start at 2:00pm.

On the course, there was lots of action. A large number of holes had sponsors greeting golfers at the tee boxes where they served treats, snacks and beverages from their various destinations’ locales. All of which were thoroughly enjoyed by the golfers. One particular hole featured a “beer goggles” beer pong hole.

Many laughs and memories were made throughout the day for beginners and expert golfers alike.

After the round of golf, everyone retreated to the club house to enjoy a reception and appetizers where they networked and shared their successes and fails of the days’ events with old and new acquaintances.

The reception then flowed into the dining room where the AGM was conducted by Chapter President, Greg Plazek. After the AGM guests enjoyed a well put together meal by the Pine View culinary team.

Following the meal, a raffle was held for the many great prizes donated by Chapter members and industry supporters. Following the raffle draws, golfing prizes were given for closest to the pin, longest drive (men and women), best foursome, and most honest team. The evening concluded with prizes being given away for the annual Tee to Green game.

This year the Golf and AGM/Kick-off events merged for the first time, thanks an congratulations to both committees for a job well done.
