2026 MPI Philadelphia Area Chapter Awards

THE DEADLINE FOR ALL NOMINATIONS => 6:00 pm EST FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2026. 

This is your chance to highlight and honor a member or members that you feel have gone above and beyond when it comes to Chapter and industry involvement! MPI Philadelphia Area Chapter Awards cover five categories. Nominations open! SCROLL DOWN for the online nomination form!

The Award Categories are:

Planner of the Year – This award is presented annually to a planner member of MPI Philadelphia Area in recognition of outstanding industry contributions, leadership, chapter involvement, and professionalism.

Supplier of the Year – This award is presented annually to a supplier member of MPI Philadelphia Area in recognition of outstanding MPI PHL and industry contributions, leadership, chapter involvement, and professionalism.

Tomorrow’s Leader – This award is presented annually to a member of MPI Philadelphia Area who has made outstanding contributions to both the Chapter and the industry and exemplifies the attributes of a chapter leader.  Nominees in this category must have joined MPI no earlier than 1/1/2023. (within ~three years; does not have to be a current chapter leader)

Chapter Leader – This award is presented annually to a member of MPI Philadelphia Area who motivates others, is involved in the Chapter community, and acts as a catalyst to cause exceptional results that benefit and positively impact the chapter.

Volunteer of the Year – The annual Volunteer of the Year Award is awarded to one of our Shining Star recipients.  The Shining Star nominations are open year-round and recognize our outstanding volunteers. To be eligible for Volunteer of the Year, you must have been awarded the Shining Star between October 2024 - October 2025.

Venue of the Year- This award is presented annually to a host venue that has provided support to MPI Philadelphia Area Chapter as a venue host.  This award is determined by a vote of the membership at large and a vote of the Awards Committee.  All host venues from November 2025-October 2026 are eligible.  

Vote for this year’s Venue of the Year by selecting from these great spaces that hosted an MPI event this year.

Awards are based on continuous involvement, commitment, and achievement with an emphasis on the 2026 calendar year.  Any member in good standing can use the nomination form to nominate candidates.

ADDITIONAL AWARDS:

Committee of the Year- This award is presented annually to an MPI Philadelphia Area Chapter Committee that has made outstanding contributions to the chapter in the current chapter year.  This award is determined by a vote of the Awards Committee.  All committees are nominated by their Director/VP and considered by the Awards Committee.

President’s Award - This award is given to an individual or organization who has contributed and made a positive impact to the Hospitality Industry, especially in the Philadelphia area.  It is presented solely on the decision of the outgoing MPI Philadelphia Area Chapter President.  The winner is not required to be a member of the chapter.

TIMELINE:

• September 1, 2026 -Nominations open! SCROLL DOWN for the online nomination form!
• October 9, 2026 - Nominations close; nominees are notified and asked to complete their form. 
• October 23, 2026 - All Nominees must complete the Online application here.
• October 26-November 6 - Awards Committee will meet to review/evaluate/select winners
• Week of November 9 - All nominees notified of their status
• December 16, 2026 - Award winners announced and celebrated at the Awards Event at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts!
