Why MPI for 2017

If you really want to continue to grow or start your career and build your professional image MPI is the place to be. The Chicago Area Chapter offers a wider compliment of member organizations to help you expand your industry connections. It is also the largest organization of its type in the region.

Planners have a need to find vendors who are up to date in their field and considered an industry leader. Within the list of member organizations you will find many that are willing to help you learn about their business and how you can use them more effectively. In this case it is not just about how much you may want to spend, it is about learning what products or services make sense for you and using them to your advantage. This gives you the opportunity to create a true friendship and not just another business connection.

While many things have continued to change, learning about how to create better interaction at your events or in your organization is still a key component. When you see the variety and frequency of events offered by the chapter you can structure your time to take advantage of some of the best educational and networking opportunities. You will also see how welcoming the group is to new members and their genuine interest in helping you meet other members that can help grow your career.

Now while there are many events to consider attending you need to be fully engaged in the chapter to get the most from your membership. This means being active in a committee that has an attraction to you. It may also come from knowing someone on a committee and learning from them more about the activities of the committee and how you can make a difference in your contribution. You may also find that there are new technology pieces that have always been of interest to you but you were unsure how they could help you.

So as you enter this year be resolved to take full advantage of your membership. If you are a bit shy we have numerous members who will help you meet our membership and can also mentor you in your position or industry knowledge. We are here to help you be your best!
