MPI Greater Orlando Scholarship Eligibility Guidelines

The MPI Greater Orlando Chapter is committed to supporting the professional growth of its members by offering scholarships for financial assistance. Below are the eligibility requirements and application guidelines:

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Active Membership: Applicants must be an active member of MPI Greater Orlando in good standing for at least six months prior to applying.
  2. Professional Development Goals: Scholarships are intended to support professional development opportunities, such as:

○      MPI Global Events (e.g., WEC, EMEC, or Convening Leaders)

○      Industry certifications (e.g., CMP, CMM, DES)

○      Local chapter education programs or signature events

  1. Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate financial need, whether due to employer budget constraints or personal financial hardship.
  2. Chapter Involvement: Priority will be given to applicants who are actively involved in the chapter through volunteerism, committee participation, or event attendance.
  3. One Scholarship Per Year: Members are eligible for one scholarship award per calendar year.

Application Guidelines

  1. Submission: Applications must be submitted online by the specified deadline. Late submissions will not be considered.
  2. Essay Requirement: Applicants must submit a brief essay (300–500 words) explaining:

○      Their professional goals and how the scholarship will support them.

○      The specific program, certification, or event they are pursuing.

○      How they have contributed to the MPI Greater Orlando Chapter.

  1. References: Include one letter of recommendation from a professional colleague, supervisor, or MPI chapter leader.
  2. Documentation:

○      Proof of program enrollment or event registration.

○      If applying for certification assistance, provide details on exam costs, application fees, or required materials.

  1. Follow-Up Commitment: Scholarship recipients must agree to:

○      Share a summary of their experience through a video testimonial submitted to the MPI Greater Orlando chapter for use on social media platforms and other public channels.

○      Continue active involvement in the chapter for at least one year post-award.

Selection Process

  1. Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Chair and Selection Committee, which includes past and present chapter leaders and/or past scholarship recipients.
  2. Awards will be based on eligibility, financial need, and alignment with professional development goals.
  3. Recipients will be notified within 30 days of the application deadline.

Scholarship Coverage

Scholarships may cover partial or full costs of the following:

●      Registration fees for MPI events.

●      Certification program fees (exam fees, application costs, etc.).

●      Local chapter event registration or workshops.

Deadlines

Scholarship application deadlines will be announced at the beginning of each calendar year and may vary depending on available funds.

Disqualifications

Applicants may be disqualified for:

         Failure to meet eligibility requirements.

         Misrepresentation of financial need or application details.

         Lack of active chapter involvement.
