- Tell us about your business and your current job.
Marilyne Bouteiller I help facilitate the discovery of a beautiful region of Minnesota by providing a unique experience for our guests who want to solve their work challenges and offer solutions to grow as a team.
- What do you hope to gain from your MPI Membership?
I’ve been going to meetings from time-to-time and want to reconnect with old friends and meet new people. Networking is a key component of success as well as keeping up with new trends in meetings.
- If there was only one thing a potential customer could remember about your company, what would that be?
Only one thing? OK, then I want to make sure people remember that the St. James Hotel is a beautiful Historic Property, not far from the Twin Cities, with 11 meeting spaces of various sizes. The drive down to Red Wing is a beautiful ride.
- What one piece of advice would you give to a new supplier joining the MPI network?
Get involved at a committee level or on the board. This is where I met most of my “old” friends.
- What has been the best piece of advice you have been given, and how has it made a difference in your life - personally or professionally?
You cannot control everything! I have a post-it note right in front of me taped to my computer reminding me that I cannot control other people’s actions and thoughts. It has helped me be more aware of what is important at work and in my life. I feel more peaceful and less stressed.
- What are some of your favorite pastime activities?
I’m happy when I can spend time in the outdoors. I enjoy biking, golfing, hiking, skiing, canoeing, and traveling. I also enjoy cooking - I’m horrible at baking - and enjoy spending time with friends.
