In this spotlight, Elaine Erickson shares her candid experience as a volunteer and how it’s helped her grow in more ways than one:

Volunteering with the MPI MN Chapter gives me the opportunity to challenge myself, grow professionally, and build meaningful connections within the industry.  I was initially nervous to join a committee because I wasn’t sure I could manage the time commitment, but I quickly learned there are opportunities at all levels, making it easy to get involved in a way that fits my schedule. Volunteering has not only helped me develop new skills and grow my network, but it’s also allowed me to meet so many amazing chapter members. It’s been a rewarding experience both personally and professionally.  Although it may be intimidating or something outside of your comfort zone, I encourage everyone to volunteer on a committee – you’ll gain so much more than you expect!
