Spotlight The Stars of Our Industry: MPI Ottawa Chapter Awards Overview
The MPI Ottawa Chapter proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of its active members, recognizing their dedication, service, and meaningful contributions to the Chapter, the meetings and events industry, and the broader community.

Each year, awards are presented in the following categories:

  • Planner of the Year
  • Supplier of the Year
  • Mentor of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Emerging Leader of the Year
  • New Member of the Year
Who can be nominated?
All nominees must:
- Currently be members in good standing of the MPI Ottawa Chapter
- Have been members and made relevant contributions during the 2025 calendar year
- Not have won in the category within the past 5 years
- Not have been on the 2025 MPI Board of Directors (exception Mentor of the Year award; see specific criteria for more details)

- Not be on the Awards Selection Committee
- No self nominations allowed
- Meet all other award-specific eligibility criteria (see nomination eligibility by award here)

Who can nominate?
Nominators must:
- Currently be members in good standing of MPI Global (any chapter)
- Not be on the Awards Selection Committee

How does the process work?
- All nominations must be made through the nomination form
- Nominations will be vetted to ensure eligibility
- Once eligibility is confirmed, nominees will be contacted and invited to complete a nominee questionnaire
- Eligible and complete nominations are reviewed and evaluated by the Awards Selection Committee which is made up of the MPI Ottawa Executive (Office of the President and Vice-Presidents)
- Award recipients will be confidential until announced at the Prix Prestige Awards Gala

In addition to the above categories, there are two special awards bestowed at the discretion of the Chapter President:

  • Honourary Chapter Member
  • President’s Award

The Honourary Chapter Member recognizes longstanding retired members or community leaders who have made significant contributions to the MPI Ottawa Chapter and/or the meetings, tourism, or hospitality industries. While nominations from the membership are welcome, the final decision rests with the President.

The President’s Award is presented to an individual who has made a unique and outstanding contribution to the Chapter. This award is not necessarily presented annually, but rather when a deserving recipient is identified by the President.

The MPI Ottawa Prix Prestige 2026 Awards will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Lago, Dow's Lake Pavilion.
