MPI-CAC Summer Knowledge Share to highlight WEC19

By: Heather Warthen, H1 Marketing & Events | Jul 9, 2019

knowledge2_resizedHighlighting everything from social media and customer experience to crisis communication and diversity, MPI-CAC’s upcoming Knowledge Share will not only recap topics from the recent MPI World Education Congress held in Toronto but also offer members who were unable to attend a chance to soak up some of the education offered.

“The Education Content team knows that not all of our MPI-CAC members are able to attend the MPI World Education Congress,” said Tammy L. Anderson, CMP, who is MPI-CAC VP of Education Content. “We also know that those of us who are going may not have an immediate chance to implement, or even brainstorm, the great ideas available at WEC. So, we decided to bring the content back to the chapter in the forum of facilitated discussions at our Summer Knowledge Share.

“We are going to ‘continue the conversations’ started at WEC, and share the valuable content with all our members.”

Anderson added that facilitators for the July 18 event are all volunteers from the chapter who attended WEC.

“They have committed to taking extra notes and sharing the info on topics like diversity and inclusion, crisis communication, superhero leadership, and more,” she said.

Facilitators include: Tammy Anderson, CMP, BCBSA; Erin Babarskis, CMP, EY; Kara Ferguson, MSHTM, CMP, American Society of Anesthesiologists; Cory Fransway, CMP, CMM, Experient; Breanne Glisan, Caesars Entertainment; Eric Sanders, Canadian Pacific; Katie Strandquist, Pritzker Military and Tameka Edwards-Chihota, Robert R. McCormick Foundation.

Topics include: The Real ROI of Social Media; Customer Experience Is the New Competitive Advantage; Get Better Meeting Outcomes. Use Shared Experience Design; Get Uncomfortable! Grab Your Uncertainty and Flourish; Countdown to the Keynote: Final Preparation Tips for the Main Event; Gender Diversity and Inclusion at All Events; Ensuring Diversity and Inclusion in Your Organization and Events; Crisis Communications: Anticipate and Communicate; Disruption Discovered: The Fusion of Design Thinking and Inclusion; Superhero Leadership; Meetings in 2025: Predictions for the Future of Our Industry; and Smart Events: The Internet of Things, Smart Venues, and the Augmented Attendee.

The event will take place from 8-11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, 355 E. Erie St., 10th Floor in Chicago.
