More than 200 attend MPI-CAC Trivia Night

By: Heather Warthen, H1 Marketing & Events | Aug 20, 2019

TriviaWith a nail-biting first round to a strong finish at the end, Team “Gilligan’s Island” from Navy Pier took home first place in the MPI-CAC Trivia Night Aug. 6 at Navy Pier’s Aon Grand Ballroom in Chicago.

Finishing second out of 26 teams was the checkered race flag team from Visit Indy.

The theme of the evening was “As Seen On TV” which was embraced by several teams, including two teams wearing Suzanne Somers ponchos, a Shark Week team complete with fin hats and an inflatable shark, as well as “The Price Is Right” team with products, name tags and even a Drew Carey-inspired host on their team roster.

The Best Team Spirit Award, however, went to NHS Global’s team who came decked out in ballgowns and red roses as contestants for “The Bachelor.”

The evening kicked off with an outdoor cocktail reception at the end of the pier that featured a variety of cocktails and bites including tacos served in lime wedges and crab and lobster ceviche.

Dinner featured three stations with a variety of options including Italian pasta dishes, Asian-inspired fare and even a tater tot bar with nearly a dozen toppings.

Trivia hosts were two familiar faces in the events industry –  Jim Grillo, CMP, of HeresChicago.com and Tina Luppino of Travis AV – who kept the audience engaged throughout the evening.

In between networking, raffle prizes were awarded with dining gift certificates, private drum lessons and hotel stay were awarded. Additionally, more than 40 packages were featured on the silent auction including trips to Las Vegas and Mexico.
