The Great American Lobster Fest returns to Navy Pier Labor Day weekend

By: Navy Pier | Aug 20, 2019

LobsterThe Great American Lobster Fest returns for the sixth consecutive year to Navy Pier – Chicago’s iconic lakefront destination – this Labor Day weekend, featuring the same amazing seafood-festival elements as always, plus exciting new twists. The annual celebration will run from Friday, Aug. 30 through Sunday, Sept. 1, offering guests an unforgettable three-day seafood spectacle. Complete with live lobster flown in fresh from the East Coast courtesy of Lobster Gram, live music performances, family-friendly seating and activities, unique craft shopping, fireworks, and cold beverages, this annual festival does not disappoint.

Food, tickets and free attendance

The festival is free to attend, with all patrons welcome. Additionally, guests may choose to secure advance Lobster Meal Tickets, VIP Packages, or an All-You-Can-Eat Whole Lobster Dining Experience. A la carte seafood, landfood, drinks, and dessert items are open for purchase to all in attendance. Notable food providers, such as Riva, Butterclaw Lobster Co, Xurro Factory, Don Elote and Base Hit BBQ, will also be joining the festival producers.

Live music

This year’s talent lineup will showcase premier sounds from Motown, Jimmy Buffet, Santana, Yacht Rock, Country  and everything in between. Names, such as Verzatile, RICO, Brass Buckle Band, South of Disorder, Aniba Hotep & The Soul Collective and The Smiley Tillman Band, will take center stage with live music for all to enjoy.

Experience Navy Pier

Festival attendees can extend the fun by taking advantage of the many exciting attractions and establishments on site at Navy Pier. Guests are encouraged to visit Pier Park, which consists of the iconic Centennial Wheel, Pepsi Wave Swinger, carousel, climbing wall, virtual reality rides and more. Also, be sure to check out the dozens of dining, retail and entertainment options available across the Pier – including the recently opened Offshore, the world’s largest rooftop bar, confirmed by Guinness World Records. Additionally, throughout the weekend, guests can enjoy more free live music as part of Navy Pier’s Live on the Lake! concert series in the Miller Lite Beer Garden and the Pier’s signature Aon Summer Fireworks on Saturday at 10:15 p.m.
