MPI-CAC prepares for annual Industry Xchange event

By: Heather Warthen, H1 Marketing & Events | Mar 17, 2020

IXEducation, networking planned for April 14 GMID event

With topics such as cannabis and Coronavirus, this year’s Industry Xchange is looking to bring timely content to help educate the meetings and events industry in Chicago.

“Attendees should expect to take away a robust amount of knowledge on the legalization of cannabis in Illinois, information surrounding the Coronavirus with crisis management solutions and how the virus is affecting the economy,” said IX co-chair Tyler Smith. “They will also take away amazing information for the future trends of technology, food and beverage, and wellness in the events and meeting space.”

The event, which coincides with Global Meetings Industry Day, will take place from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, at City Winery, 1200 W. Randolph St., Chicago.

“People should attend to learn about the current opportunities, and trends, surrounding the legalization of cannabis and what to expect moving forward,” Smith said. “They will be able to learn about crisis management information for events such as the Coronavirus and its impact on the current state of our economy.

“Attendees will be able to become leaders in their industries on the future trends surrounding technology, food and beverage, and wellness in the event and meeting space.”

In addition to MPI-CAC, the event is also held in conjunction with several other industry associations and supported by members of Association Forum, CEC, EDPA, IAEE, ILEA, NACE, PCMA and SITE. IX also offers ample networking opportunities with other industry attendees.

Smith said the committee is really excited for this year’s event and its venue.

“City Winery will be an incredible venue for attending IX 2020,” he said. “The amount of opportunities to connect with industry professional and grow your existing network will only add to the knowledge received from IX 2020.”

Registration and networking start at 3 p.m. that day, followed by the speaker panels with some audience Q&A opportunities. The evening will close with a networking reception from 5-7 p.m.
