Holidays 2020! Top 5 Things You Can Still Do This Holiday Season

By: Erika Johnson, Chicago History Museum | Dec 18, 2020

ZooLights (2)2020.  To say that it’s been an interesting year is an understatement.  Like everything else this year, the holiday season doesn’t look the same, but there is still so much you can do to celebrate!  Here are some of my favorites.  Most of these require advance reservations, and they’re selling out quickly.

  1. All of the Lights! - Both the city and the suburbs have spectacular light displays, minus the crowds.
  2. Christkindlemarket Goes Virtual – A holiday favorite! You can still support your favorite vendors, but you’ll have to mull your own wine, roast your own nuts, and make your own boot mug. Christkindlemarket

  3. Ice Skating Ribbon at Maggie Daley Park – Lace up those skates and catch great views of downtown. Maggie Daley Park

  4. Jack Frost Winter Village – Head to Goose Island for this socially-distanced version of the holiday pop-up. Jack Frost Winter Village

  5. Kick back at home and watch a holiday film set in the Windy City – One of the best things to come out of 2020 is more time with our families. No reservations required. Timeout Chicago put together a festive list. Timeout Chicago

Don’t let 2020 dampen your holiday spirits!  Stay safe and enjoy yourself.  You deserve it!
