Your Path to Becoming a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP)

Earning your Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation is one of the most respected achievements in the events industry—and MPI DFW is here to help you get there.

The MPI DFW CMP Prep Course is a 10-week guided learning program designed to prepare aspiring CMP candidates for the CMP exam while deepening their knowledge of the global standards that define excellence in meeting and event management.

Facilitated by industry leaders who hold the CMP credential, this collaborative program provides a structured, supportive environment to help you build confidence, master the material, and stay accountable throughout your preparation journey.

As a participants  you will:

•  Study and review the Event Industry Council’s CMP International Standards (CMP-IS) across all exam domains 
•  Gain insights and exam strategies from experienced CMP-certified facilitators
•  Receive guidance on CMP eligibility requirements and the application process
•  Connect with peers pursuing the same professional milestone

Program Schedule

The Prep Course will meet weekly in a virtual setting from October 5- December 14, with an optional in-person/hybrid study day on December 19. There will be a kick-off meeting for all participants on September 28 at 6:30pm.  Registered participants will receive the Zoom meeting links for all sessions.

Facilitated by local MPI Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter CMP industry experts, each session guides participants through the Domains of the EIC CMP Handbook. Participants will gain a better understanding of the materials to help prepare for the CMP exam. The class structure is a mixture of interactive discussions, review quizzes and mock tests, group activities, and relevant presentations. Other elements of the CMP Prep Course that participants will benefit from including the CMP Buddy program, the CMP Panel discussion, weekly class briefings, guidance on the CMP application, general information about the exam process, and a CMP exam study day.
