MPI Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter

One of the five largest MPI chapters in the world, MPI Dallas/Fort Worth is consistently recognized for its best practices, member engagement and experiences. Founded in 1977, the chapter now boasts more than 450 members and hosts a robust schedule of networking and educational events throughout the year.

MPI Dallas/Fort Worth was named a Chapter of Excellence in 2023, was the recipient of the 2018 RISE Award - Marketplace Excellence for our Sales Blitz Program and 2017 RISE Award for Innovative Educational Programing and has been named Chapter of the Year four times (1989, 1990, 1994 and 1996).

It is with great gratitude that I step into the role of your 2026 Chapter President. I’m Zhanna Atherton, and like many of you, I am proud to be part of this vibrant MPI DFW family. Starting a new chapter of my life and moving to the United States over 13 years ago, building my future here has been a journey of adaptation, learning, and growth. Along the way, I have been fortunate to work alongside inspiring leaders who challenged me to step beyond what I thought was possible. Their guidance and belief in me have shaped who I am today, and it is this spirit of support and encouragement that I want to foster within our MPI DFW chapter. One of the greatest gifts MPI has given me is the chance to build lasting friendships, grow as a leader, and discover the career of my dreams.

In my professional environment, we live by the “One Team” mantra—an unwavering commitment to collaborate, respect, and elevate one another. Similarly, the motto that guides the work of my team, “Write Your Own Story” inspires us to take ownership of our paths. This year, I invite each of you to embrace that call: to own your journey, share your story, and learn from one another.  I am honored to lead our community under this year’s theme: “Every Story Matters.” This simple phrase carries profound meaning—reminding us that each one of us, with our unique journeys, voices, and experiences, is an essential thread in the vibrant tapestry that is MPI Dallas Fort Worth. Each member’s story brings perspective, wisdom, and inspiration—and together, they fuel our collective strength and innovation.

As MPI DFW approaches its 50th anniversary, we stand on the shoulders of those who came before us—leaders who built a legacy of excellence, inclusion, and growth. Our responsibility is to honor that legacy by fostering an environment where all members feel they belong, can learn, and can contribute meaningfully to the future of our industry. By valuing every story, we build stronger connections and elevate our collective impact on the meetings and events industry.

Looking ahead, together through education, collaboration, and partnerships, we will continue to grow—not just in numbers, but in purpose and influence.
