Chartered in 1978, MPI Georgia is the seventh largest chapter in the global MPI organization with 400+ members. To serve our membership of meetings and event professionals, we offer a variety of opportunities to learn, network, celebrate, and give back to our community and industry.

Greetings to all our chapter members and visitors! It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I write to you as the 2025 MPI Georgia Chapter President. This year holds immense potential, and I am excited to lead and support you all in making it a year to remember.

As a chapter, we continue to have strong and visionary leadership, a reputation of stability and educational value, and my favorite, we are a passionate and engaged community. When I look at these amazing strengths, and the opportunities ahead, it has created a mindset of wellness. A focus on how to move us forward with a solid base while protecting and building what we currently have in place. To do that, there are a few priorities I have set for the year and I invite you on this journey.

First, we’ll build on our basics. Standard operating procedures, clear job descriptions and organizational charts. As we continue to finetune what we have, we focus on the intention and goal to ensure we have a solid foundation so that when we step up or when we falter, we don’t fall. This also allows any new member to have a clear plan to get involved – we are here to support your growth and encourage you to join us.

Secondly, we’ll build our annual business plans from a chapter strategic plan. Creating a strategic plan takes a lot of hours and due diligence in stretching those strategic muscles. Though the board will be driving the creation of this 3-year plan, the membership will engage with the process over the next few months so that we are able to start working on the plan in 2026 with the new board of directors. Areas of interest include member engagement and inclusivity, educational innovation, communication, state-wide collaboration, volunteer recruitment, retention and more.

And finally, community and volunteerism. I’m here because someone asked me to write the run of show for Phoenix Awards a few years ago. We are in this chapter for a variety of reasons. We will be looking at ways to strengthen those reasons, to expand our community while working to keep inclusive and supportive. I encourage you to join me on this ride as we look for ways to build our benches and cultivate a community of volunteerism. You being here and reading this message is only the first step. I implore you to search for more.  

I truly see this experience as an opportunity for us to work together. I can’t do it without you. I need your support, your work, your passion and your experience to help keep MPI Georgia on top and moving forward. And as we embark on another year of growth, collaboration, and success, I want to personally thank you all for being on the journey with me.
