Scholarship Goal
Our goal is to ensure the meeting professional will experience firsthand the membership benefits of the MPI Middle PA Chapter. From education programs and platinum speakers to networking events and community activities, MPI Middle PA offers the resources for continuous professional growth and improvement.
If approved for a scholarship, MPI Middle PA will provide a preferred planner Chapter scholarship to qualified meeting professionals for four (4) years with the following stipulations:
Year 1 – 100% of membership fee paid by Chapter (Chapter pays)
Year 2 – 75% of membership fee paid by Chapter (Member pays and Chapter reimburses 75% of fee)
Year 3 – 50% of membership fee paid by Chapter (Member pays and Chapter reimburses 50% of fee)
Year 4 – 25% of membership fee paid by Chapter (Member pays and Chapter reimburses 25% of fee)

Year 1 – $425.00
Year 2 – $318.75
Year 3 – $212.50
Year 4 – $106.25
Total Chapter Investment per Scholarship Recipient: $1,062.50
Scholarship Recipient Qualifications
- Individuals must plan meetings or events as part of their job responsibilities.
- The applicant cannot be an existing MPI Middle PA or MPI member.
- The applicant must have the authority to sign an event and venue rental contract or be actively involved in the contract process, as well as be responsible for detailing events from start to finish.
- The applicant can be a previous scholarship recipient. Your scholarship will be awarded at your next eligible level. For example, if you had a scholarship for one year already, you would start out at year two (75% funding) on the above scale.
Scholarship Recipient Requirements
In accepting the scholarship, the recipient is required to be an active Chapter member:
- Attend a minimum of four (4) MPI Middle PA Chapter events during each year of scholarship membership (membership year is based on your join date, not the calendar year). Recipient is responsible to pay the registration fee to attend the Chapter events. As of 2025, registration fees are $45 for each Education Event and $49 for each Networking Event.
- Actively participate on a Chapter Committee and attend Committee meetings
(Communications, Education, Membership, or Sponsorship).- Recipient must attend at least five (5) committee meetings, including one (1) all day retreat, each year during the four (4) year scholarship term. Attendance at committee meetings can be virtual, if offered.
- Understand and learn how to show value of your MPI Middle PA membership to your employer.
- If at any time during the four-year term of this scholarship, a recipient’s job duties change so that they no longer meet the scholarship criteria (regardless of employer), MPI Middle PA reserves the right to discontinue the scholarship.
- Each year, no less than one month prior to renewing the scholarship for the next year, the scholarship recipient’s attendance and participation in the committee and chapter meetings will be reviewed for the previous membership year. If the recipient has not attended the required number of committee or chapter meetings and/or has not been actively involved on the committee, MPI Middle PA reserves the right to discontinue the scholarship.
- Recipient’s employer must fully support their participation with MPIMP and allow attendance at Chapter and Committee events during the work day.
Application Process
- Scholarships are based upon availability and merit. Applications will be reviewed by members of MPI Middle PA's Membership Committee and Board of Directors.
- Applicants will be notified by the end of the next full month after the application was received. (i.e. Submit the application
on March 15, you will be notified of acceptance or denial, by April 30.)
