2026 Call for Board Leaders

The MPI Carolinas Chapter relies on the dedication and service of our volunteers to address the changing needs of our members and lead the Chapter into the future. A crucial effort to ensure our Chapter's continued success is the selection of our Board members. The Governance and Nominating Committee seeks candidates to serve as officers and directors on the 2026 MPI-CC Board of Directors for the January 1 - December 31, 2026 term.

Benefits

While serving on the Board is demanding and challenging, it is also a privilege and extremely rewarding.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Enhance the value of your membership while contributing to the long-term success of our Chapter
  • Share your skills and industry experience while collaborating alongside industry leaders
  • Expand your knowledge of the intricacies of association management
  • Gain leadership experience in managing volunteers, budgets and projects
  • Meet and network with leaders of other MPI chapters

Positions

The following positions are open for nomination:

  • (1) President-Elect: One-year term, with automatic succession to President in 2027
  • (5) Vice Presidents: One-year term
  • (3) Directors: One-year term

The Board of Directors is currently composed of 11 chapter members (8 officers and 3 directors). On Jan. 1, 2026, 2025 President Nicole Filippo, CMP, will become the Immediate Past President and 2025 President-Elect Seth Macchi will take office as the 2026 President.

Resources

Please review the MPI-CC Leadership Manual for specifics on the succession and transition timeline; Chapter leadership structure; Board commitment and general responsibilities; and leadership job descriptions.

Chapter leaders are expected to adhere to MPI's Principles of Professionalism.

Application Process

Review the MPI-CC Leadership Manual.

Complete the Board Candidate Interest Form and submit it by 5 p.m. EDT on May 30, 2025.

The Governance and Nominating Committee will review applications and consider Board candidates based on:

  • Willingness and ability to fulfill the obligations of office in the capacity indicated
  • History of involvement, accomplishment and dependable service to MPI and the Chapter
  • Desire to contribute time, energy, support and creativity to the chapter
  • Leadership, business and management experience outside of MPI
  • Contents of completed application
  • Results of phone or virtual interview

The Governance and Nominating Committee will conduct interviews with all candidates in June. The Committee will recommend one candidate per position on a slate of candidates to be presented to Chapter membership for review in July. If no positions are contested after 30 days, the slate will be ratified, submitted to MPI Global, and duly elected candidates will take office on January 1, 2026.
