Quarterly chapter events are held in the Carolinas. Our meetings provide an opportunity to hear chapter updates, develop new skills, earn CMP CEs, and build relationships with industry professionals. Each meeting includes a networking reception and at least three hours of education.
New Member Lunch N' Learns are held two weeks prior to each quarterly chapter meeting. All new members will be invited to join, learn about our chapter, meet chapter leaders and connect with fellow new members. Not a new member but still interested? Please join us!
Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) is an international day of advocacy, powered by the U.S. Travel Association, showcasing the undeniable value that business meetings, trade shows, incentive travel, exhibitions, conferences and conventions bring to people, businesses and communities. Each year, MPI-CC hosts a GMID event with fellow industry associations including SITE SE, ILEA Charlotte, PCMA SE, AENC, NACE Charlotte, NCTIA and HSMAI Charlotte.
The PPF serves to connect meeting planning professionals with top industry suppliers. The annual event offers the perfect blend of business and pleasure, featuring a delicious lunch, insightful learning sessions, and ample networking opportunities.
DEI Connects events are offered at least four times a year. DEI Connects is an inclusive networking event aimed at fostering dialogue and supporting our chapter's diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
MPI Carolinas Chapter is a CMP Preferred Provider, which means we are formally registered with the Events Industry Council (EIC) and are committed to providing education that aligns with the CMP International Standards (CMP-IS).
When you see the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Preferred Provider logo as part of the promotion of a Chapter program, you’ll know that the program has been approved by the Events Industry Council (EIC) for you to earn clock hours when you attend. These clock hours can be used to meet the CMP application or CMP recertification requirements. MPI-CC will report these earned clock hours when you register and attend an approved program.
The CMP credential is recognized globally as the badge of excellence in the events industry. The qualifications for this certification are based on professional experience, education and a rigorous exam.
The first step is to go to the Events Industry Council (EIC) site and create an account. Be sure to enter the same email address you will use to register for MPI-CC events as the Primary Address.
After the chapter event, log in to your EIC account to review and update your clock hours.
To add continuing education (CE) credits to your account with the Event Industry Council (EIC) for a session that has not been pre-approved by EIC, you can self-report it to add to your EIC account.
You will need two pieces of information:
