Jacob Greifinger, Events Coordinator

Alston & Bird, LLP

Member since October 2022

Please help MPI Georgia welcome as a member Jacob Greifinger, an Events Coordinator at Alston & Bird, LLP. In his current position, Jacob’s primary responsibilities are to assist with the planning, marketing, and execution of various client-facing events for the firm; across all of the practice groups and national offices. These events range in size from intimate private dinners to conferences and retreats of up to 500 attendees. He is also responsible for the firm’s client gift program, where Jacob manages branded merchandise,  swag, display materials, and event signage. The coolest thing he is working on right now is probably the 2023 Client Conference, which will be a collaborative and engaging retreat at the Montage Palmetto Bluff Resort with several attorneys and high-level clients.

Joining MPI Georgia in October 2022, Jacob learned about MPI through his events colleagues at Alston & Bird and jumped at the opportunity to meet and network with other event planners as well as suppliers in the Georgia Chapter. His first job in the meeting and events industry was at the Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre in Marietta, where Jacob discovered his passion and excitement for planning and managing events of all kinds. Jacob shares a piece of advice he will never forget, “Everybody takes their own unique career path in life.  Don’t feel like you have to follow in the footsteps of anyone. Take most of the opportunities that are presented to you and follow your passions, and you will inevitably end up rewarded and fulfilled.”

Outside of the event planning profession, Jacob is also a musician and enjoys playing the trumpet. When asked what he could not go a day without, he replied, “Music! [I] can’t go a day without listening to something that matches my mood. Music elevates almost any moment in my day, allowing me to focus, relax, or have fun.” He is also inspired by his cousin who embodies many of the qualities and skills that are important to Jacob and essential in life. His cousin is “charismatic, successful in his career, well connected, engaged in the community with initiatives that are meaningful to him, and family is deeply important to him.”
