Please help us welcome to MPI Georgia Courtney West, owner, wedding planner and designer at Peachy Keen Lady. She joined in November 2022, was referred by a fellow vendor, Robot Booth, and is excited to branch out into corporate events. At Peachy Keen Lady, Courtney is the lead planner, coordinator, and designer assisting clients with everything from full-service planning to day-of coordination and full-service event design to a la carte design/floral services. She oversees the setup, timeline, floor plans, room flips, and takedowns ensuring that every event runs smoothly from start to finish.

Courtney’s first foray into the meeting industry was with her first (and still current) corporate client, the Cool Girls; they put on the Hot Pink Party every year. She was hired as a decorator to bring a fun creative and fresh vibe to their annual event and looks forward to working with them every year. Courtney recalls, “this job stood out for me from my other events because I do a lot of weddings and I really have enjoyed working with them, they make it fun and easy and always refer me for their other events.” She enjoys weddings, too, corporate events come with less stress in planning and decorating. “You don't have as much time to preplan/prepare as a wedding client, but overall, it is a lot less stressful in general.”

The coolest thing Courtney is working on right now is her planning portal for clients on her website. She has been developing a guide/tool for clients that includes everything she knows about event planning and design. “My main focus lately has been polishing my project management skills by giving clients access to everything I know about events, it has made my job easier by freeing up time sending out links, PDFs and sending emails over and over again stating the same information.” Soon clients can login and have instant access event information at their fingertips, as well as tools for helping them make their budget and planning decisions more confidently. “This makes our in-person planning time a lot more productive. My overall project is to simplify the planning process as much as possible, and I think that is the coolest thing that I have done in 17 years of working weddings/events.”

When asked about her family, Courtney eagerly shares she is a “youthful mother” of one son and one daughter as well as a precious puppy named Cookie. She is also the youngest of three children and event planning runs in her family (Courtney, her sister, and their late mother). Courtney’s eclectic musical tastes take her from the best concert she ever attended, Les Claypool/Primus running a close race with Smashing Pumpkins, to her lifelong walk-up song selection, “Do It Again” by Steely Dan. And when she is not planning/designing events, you can find Courtney taking her children swimming, hiking, or to theme parks to ride roller coasters. “We are fearless! Six Flags or Dollywood here we come woohoo!”
