District Events and Catering is a full-service luxury catering company specializing in South Asian and multicultural cuisine. Our global inspirations have allowed us to share our cuisine and production expertise to any clientele base requiring catering and event services.

Excerpt from VoyageATL profile:  “Ever since I was young, I’ve had a passion for food. Growing up, I was always experimenting with new recipes and trying to put my own twist on traditional cooking. As the years went on, I chose the more conventional career path. However, I continued to cook for monthly gatherings and small parties alongside my job as an IT consultant. After 15 years of IT work, I was presented with an opportunity to cater a much larger event than I was accustomed to handling. At the time, it just felt like this was my chance to move from working small gigs to servicing bigger events. It was daunting and exciting all at the same time. I decided to pursue the opportunity; and of course, after I got my first taste of specialty catering… there was no going back.”

What’s your MPI connection?  We are a member of the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) and the National Association for Catering & Events (NACE). I learned about the Georgia MPI chapter from a “friendor.” I wanted to increase our company awareness with industry peers, create strategic partners and alliances, and be a resource for others.

Rookie Mistake?  I’ve made many rookie mistakes related to processes and protocols; fortunately, I found last minute solutions so that it never impacted the outcome.

First Job / Worst Job:  My summer job for two years was at Six Flags Over Georgia. Worst Job? Selling door to door for a residential roofing company when I was in college.

Note taker or tablet?  I take notes either on my phone or laptop. Not much of a pen and paper guy… with all the moving parts in our industry, it’s best to be safe than sorry.

How did you get involved in the Fall Classic?  I was “scouted” by Joel Miller from ButtonItUp. I enjoy golfing, and he looked like he could use some help with the event.

Dream vacation:  Bora Bora… pretty much explains itself.
