Anne Chen, TMP Senior Sales Manager at Explore Gwinnett Members since 2015

MPI Georgia connection? Joined as a member when I started working at Explore Gwinnett in 2015! 

How did you get into the hospitality industry? I worked in restaurant management for more than 17 years, and then moved into the hotel industry with Marriott, starting at the front office. Within 3 years I was promoted 3 times, gaining experience in customer service, group bookings and sales, and meetings management. I knew I wanted my next opportunity to be in a broader hospitality role and was recruited by Explore Gwinnett in 2015.

What's one of your most unique personal or work accomplishments during your time at home this year? I was getting so stressed out at the beginning of the pandemic. I was emotionally and mentally drained by watching our industry crumble. I got myself out of the funk by changing my thinking and focusing on my personal wellbeing. I started walking at the park, playing tennis, badminton, basketball, Ping-Pong, and learning to play pickleball. Part of my personal wellbeing was investing in a hot tub! Best decision ever!
