Grapevine - Fall Classic Recap

By: MPI Georgia | Nov 7, 2023

When this year’s Fall Classic co-chairs Hannah Bradley and Kevin Priger were tasked with revamping MPI’s beloved annual event, they hit the ground running to make sure this event would be one to be remembered!

The event transformation began with a new Fall Classic logo (which highlights our state tree - the Southern Live Oak). Soon to follow was a new tagline – Connect. Compete. Celebrate. Ultimately, these core elements have been at the heart of this event since its inception in 1996.

Traditionally, our MPI Georgia Chapter has hosted the Fall Classic a golf tournament and recently tied in bocce ball to allow a friendly competition for those who don’t play golf. This idea of bringing in bocce, originally proposed and executed by Jeff Whitney, was taken to a new level this year with the addition of mini golf and cornhole. While our avid golfers may have missed the full 18 holes, we are hopeful the mini golf was sufficient in keeping them entertained.

Our beautiful venue, Magnolia Hall and Promenade, located inside Piedmont Park proved to be the perfect location for this day of fun in the sun. For the second year in a row our weather sponsor, Jekyll Island, did not disappoint! The beautiful Fall day started in Magnolia Hall where we enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch, a thank you to our sponsors, open bidding on our exceptional silent auction items and a quick rundown of game rules. Everyone was up and moving after the opening reception! Our DJ sponsor for the event, AMP’d Entertainment, brought life to our parade from Magnolia Hall to Promenade where our day of gaming and friendly competition began. To further enhance the fun, we had chilled lattes, passed appetizers, beer/wine, 3 delicious signature cocktails and engaging sponsor tables. At the conclusion of the games, we returned to Magnolia Hall for an incredible spread of food followed by our awards ceremony.

Overall, the event was a huge success! We did exactly as we originally planned – Connect, Compete and Celebrate with one another. It goes without saying an event of this magnitude would not be possible without the hard work of our amazing committee members and our event sponsors. MPI Georgia’s Fall Classic has officially been taken to new heights this year. Thanks for joining us!
