May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month—a time to celebrate the culture, history, and vital contributions of the AAPI community. Within the event industry, AAPI professionals have long played a pivotal role in shaping experiences, building connections, and leading with innovation, resilience, and heart.
MPI Georgia is proud to recognize and uplift the accomplishments of our AAPI members, especially those who are helping guide our chapter into the future. We are honored to shine a light on two outstanding leaders: Ted Basco, our 2025 President-Elect, and Chris Yueh, CMP, our current Vice President of Finance.
Ted and Chris bring decades of leadership experience to our community—experience grounded in collaboration, creativity, and a powerful, often underrepresented perspective. Their thoughtful approach to leadership reflects the very best of what our industry needs: inclusive voices, cultural richness, and bold vision.
As we celebrate AAPI Heritage Month, we’re reminded of the value in listening to diverse perspectives and amplifying voices that have helped shape our industry for the better. Ted and Chris serve not just as leaders, but as examples of what’s possible when we lead with authenticity and purpose.
To all of our AAPI colleagues in the event industry: we see you, we celebrate you, and we thank you.
Happy AAPI Heritage Month from MPI Georgia.
Kind Regards,
