August: A Time for Change and Celebration August is such a special month. It’s the time when summer begins to fade, yet the energy in MPI Georgia is just getting started as we prepare for fall and beyond. For me, August represents transition — a time for change, growth, and embracing new possibilities. In that spirit, I want to take a moment to recognize two of our fellow MPI Georgia members who are doing big things.
🎯 Amusement Masters If you haven’t had the chance to experience Amusement Masters, you’re truly in for a treat. Led by Kelly Smink and her talented team — Shane Cochran, Tesia Essandoh, and Julie Smink — they’ve built a reputation as Atlanta’s go-to source for the most exciting games and amusements for events of all types. Recently, they reached a major milestone by moving into a new, larger warehouse! This expansion not only reflects their growth but also allows them to bring in even more cutting-edge inventory to elevate client events. What I love about Amusement Masters is their can-do spirit — they don’t just deliver fun; they deliver solutions. Whether you’re planning something local here in Atlanta or a large-scale activation anywhere in the country, they’ve got you covered. And if they don’t have exactly what you need? They’ll buy it… or build it. That’s dedication.
🏆 Sammy Caban Another familiar face in our MPI Georgia community, Sammy Caban, continues to inspire with his experience, creativity, and intentionality in every project he touches. I’m thrilled to congratulate him on his role as Chairman of the 2026 Allie Awards. The Allie Awards, hosted by the Allie Foundation of Georgia, is one of the most prestigious events in our local industry — a night that recognizes and celebrates the very best in live event design, planning, and production. But the awards aren’t just about honoring excellence; they also invest in the future, funding scholarships and offering mentorship opportunities for the next generation of event professionals. Having been inducted into the Allie Award Hall of Fame in 2024, I know firsthand the honor and sense of community this event fosters. As of July, there are still several committee roles open — including Chair of Entertainment, which is such an exciting opportunity for someone ready to shape an unforgettable experience. I’ll also be joining one of the committees this year, so if you’re curious about getting involved, please reach out to me at qlewis@rentfurniture.com. Here’s to Change, Growth, and Each Other!
August reminds us that change is constant, and growth is a choice. Let’s keep lifting one another up, celebrating our milestones, and building an industry that reflects the creativity and brilliance of everyone in it. |
