Margaret Bacevich

Event Sales Manager, College Football Hall of Fame Member

Joined MPI Georgia: November 2024

Help MPI Georgia extend a welcome to member Margaret Bacevich, Event Sales Manager at the College Football Hall of Fame. Her introduction to MPI was made through a recommendation by her Director of Sales as a way to become more familiar with the Atlanta market. Margaret started her work in the meeting industry with her current employer as a Group Sales Executive where she was responsible for booking Field Trips, birthday parties, and team-building outings. She then moved up into the meeting industry as an Event Sales Coordinator where she is currently responsible for development, management and execution of sales programs including lead generation in the convention, corporate and social markets, contract negotiations, menu detailing and actual event implementation. Margaret works in tandem with the Event Operations team and other internal departments to ensure all client needs are fulfilled. She recently worked in selling and planning a major 2-day event with NFL executives.

Margaret has identified key strategies for staying productive during the workday. “I do my best to balance my day between focusing on my daily tasks and connecting with those around me. I find that blocking myself from those surrounding me negatively impacts my work and life in the office. We are a very tight-knit family at the College Football Hall of Fame, so I always ensure my work is a priority but so is managing the

connections around me. I also operate in a block schedule to manage my time well. I will separate out time to communicate with leads, work on emails, etc.” Some of her best practices for working on a team is to utilize everyone’s strengths and growth areas to help clients to the best of their ability, maintaining open communication between all departments, and being open to learning and asking questions.

When asked which four individuals, living or dead, would you like to eat dinner with the most and why, Margaret’s guests were influential artists: “Audrey Hepburn because not only is she one of my favorite actresses and a fashion icon, she spent a lot of her time devoted to charity and serving others. Jane Austen, who is one of my favorite writers, inspired my view of friends, family, and relationships. Stevie Nicks is a Rock n’ roll legend and I would be honored to share dinner with someone who influenced multiple generations. Sam Cooke, another one of my favorite artists, was someone who never backed down from what he believed in and was willing to put himself on the front lines to defend those around him."
