MPI Georgia welcomes Tass Sweeney who joined in January 2020. In 2019, Tass founded The Sweeney Zone, a unique partnership and shopping experience with AmericasMart Atlanta focused on the group, convention, celebrity, and VIP business.  Her newest addition to The Sweeney Zone is The Shop 'n Dine Zone which expands the shopping and trendy foodie experience to Buckhead and the outlets in and around the Atlanta area.

Tass began her journey in the meeting and event industry in 1988 where she served as Director of Bellsouth Meeting and Event Services and worked on sponsorships and managed the logistics of the BellSouth Atlanta Classic and the Atlanta Organizing Committee to host the 1996 Olympic Games.  During her career, she has had the good fortune to work with multiple leaders of industry, sports, government, and entertainment including Arthur Blank and Bernie Marcus, founders of The Home Depot.  As Vice President of LOMA Meetings and Conventions, her journey has taken her around the world to Australia, Germany, Great Britain, Singapore, Mexico, Spain, and Canada.  She can plan any event, large or small, from the board room to the golf course. Throughout her career, Tass became well versed in all large sporting events and sponsorships including Super Bowls, the PGA Tour, the Ryder Cup, NASCAR and the Olympics. 

Recently, she managed a 5-1/2-year company-wide training event for the PGA Tour Superstore which is owned by Arthur Blank.  This event included company senior leadership of PGA Tour Superstores as well as vendor leadership (i.e. Under Armour, Callaway, Taylor Made, etc.) and of course, the PGA Pros.  

Downtime is rarely in the cards for Tass but she always makes time to spend with her husband Jim, her daughter, son-in-law and 2 handsome grandsons who are no doubt her favorites!  She splits her time between Atlanta and their second home at Reynolds Lake Oconee attempting to play golf!  She authored a children's book, Funny Friends and Faces of Henry P. Gruber, which is a book dedicated to the children and the families of St. Jude Research Hospital. The movie script is being written as we speak! This book was written to be a welcome gift for each child entering the hospital as well as a fundraiser for the general fund.

The best advice that she ever received was from her mom. “Remember, that you only have one time to make a good impression, remain truthful in everything that you do and remain true to yourself.  You'll always be able to sleep at night”.
