MPI Potomac is the largest MPI chapter in the world with over 600 members – 62% of whom represent the planner community (including association, corporate, government and independent planners), 37% of whom represent the supplier community and the remainder representing the student community and 1% of whom represent students.
For the 12th year, MPI Potomac will be hosting a Silent Auction this winter, which will kick off on November 12th and run for one month.
A portion of proceeds from the auction will support the MPI Foundation, which funds scholarships and grants that directly benefit our community – nearly $80,000 has been distributed to MPI Potomac Chapter members over the past decade.

The Silent Auction will open on November 12th, 2025, and run through not only the virtual November Ponderings event, but also the Evening of the Stars on December 10th. The auction will officially close on Friday, December 12th. This means promotion of donations will occur over the course one month and two large chapter events!
MPI Potomac recognizes the value of its members who supply goods and services and feel there should be additional benefits for those who help the chapter achieve its goals of superior professional development and networking opportunities. We will utilize Zeffy for this online auction to showcase your organization and item to our community.
Here are some reasons to consider a donation to the silent auction or providing a sponsorship:
We encourage you to be creative. Why not consider providing lunch with your congressman; or providing a piece of art by a beloved artist; or extending a wine tour at a local Virginia winery? Of course, hotel accommodations, airline tickets, transportation items, gourmet baskets, etc, are always winners.
Donating to the MPI Potomac Online Auction Fundraiser is as easy as 1-2-3:
When you submit an item to this auction, you will be asked to provide some information about the item you would like to donate, along with pictures of the item or business. If the donation has any restrictions, we ask you elaborate on those in your posting. If your donation has an expiration date, please set the date no earlier than December 31, 2026.
Once you submit your donation, the auction subcommittee will contact you with any questions and upload the details to the Zeffe platform.
Please note: DO NOT SEND items to MPI Potomac. We will inform you of the winner and have you send the item directly to that winner after the auction.
