Member Spotlight - Cass Bayley, President, Bayley Group Inc.

How did you get your start in the industry?
My first job in the industry was with the Royal York Hotel where I worked on the front desk followed by several departments before moving to sales. I immediately loved sales, learned a tremendous amount from my colleagues and eventually became the Sales Manager. After several years I became the Director of Sales at the Park Plaza Hotel (now Park Hyatt) and represented the Canadian hotels on the Preferred Hotel Association senior marketing team. 

What is your proudest professional accomplishment to date?
My longevity is not unique in this business however I am proud to have owned and operated the Bayley Group for 27 years, growing the business to more than 7 million in revenue.

What is the most memorable event you have planned or client experience you have had?
We planned and executed a World Congress in Rome this year, more than doubling the expected attendance and net revenue for the client. It was a positive experience from start to finish and the Bayley Group team handled it with tremendous skill. 

What advice would you give to someone just coming into the industry?
Ethics are everything. Be a great listener. Focus on the end results
