THE CARDINALE CREATIVE BURSARY – Deadline April 15, 2021

cardinale creative

While the event & hospitality landscape continues to shift, the only certainty that students have these days is change. Last year I watched students across the province feel defeated when they were unable to intern, network or do live year-end events due to COVID-19.

As a long-time member of the MPI Toronto chapter, I have decided to offer a bursary called “The Cardinale Creative Bursary”. This bursary will recognize the creative young minds of the graduating classes of 2021. I believe that creating a new social community of graduates will help them to network, and shadow and volunteer alongside many event professionals, which hopefully will lead to future job opportunities.

How the Bursary works:

  1. Student must be graduating in 2021 from an event or hospitality program in Ontario.
  2. Students will be asked to submit a one-page creative piece of content with visuals.
  3. 10 students will be chosen from the entries submitted.
  4. Date that the creative brief is due is April 15th.
  5. The winners will receive a $500.00 bursary which will be put towards a one-year membership to the MPI Toronto chapter as well as some paid professional development days.
  6. The students will be expected to volunteer on one of the many committees that they choose to take part in.
  7. Students will be chosen just after their exams in April and notified by email no later than May 15th.
  8. Students will have the opportunity to shadow, network and learn from many event professionals during their time volunteering, as well as provide their thoughts and lend their creativity towards future ideas within the association.

The students selected will be part of a brand-new initiative where ideas will be welcomed and encouraged, while having the opportunity for hands on best practices. My wish is to lead them to opportunities and people, ultimately leading to job opportunities.

As I develop a benchmark within the event industry, I look for your support and delivery of this information to all students within your programs and to encourage them to participate in their future and cultivate the relationships that can be built from volunteering alongside leaders in the industry.

The student criteria form is available here and can be completed at any time before the end of March.

I look forward to working together with the educators within our industry to help these young thought-provoking students with their future.

Virtually Yours,

Janice Cardinale
