Professional Development Series

November 12, 2026
1:00 PM - 4:30 PM
ACE Hotel Toronto
Organizer
MPI Toronto Chapter

Join MPI Toronto Chapter for an afternoon of professional development, industry insights, and meaningful connections with fellow meeting and event professionals.

This interactive event brings together planners, suppliers, and students to explore practical ideas, gain fresh perspectives, and leave with actionable takeaways they can immediately apply in their work, studies, and professional development.

The program will feature an industry keynote speaker, intentional networking opportunities, and peer-led roundtable discussions focused on the opportunities and challenges shaping today's meeting and event industry.

Whether you're looking to strengthen your skills, exchange ideas with industry peers, or expand your professional network, this session will provide valuable insight and real-world conversations relevant to the work we do every day.

Featured Keynote Speaker: Haim Goldenberg

How to Sell an Idea – The Power of HI

Every event professional sells ideas. Whether pitching a concept to a client, presenting to leadership, or gaining stakeholder buy-in, understanding how people think and make decisions can make all the difference.

Join master mentalist, HI expert, and television personality Haim Goldenberg for an interactive keynote exploring the psychology of influence, human behaviour, and how to present ideas so they are heard, trusted, and accepted.

Through live demonstrations, audience participation, and practical tools, attendees will discover how to:

  • Better understand how people think and make decisions
  • Present and frame ideas for greater impact
  • Recognize attention and resistance
  • Build stronger connections with clients and stakeholders

The session also explores Human Intelligence (HI) — intuition, creativity, empathy, judgment, and connection — and why these distinctly human skills remain essential as AI continues to shape our industry.

Intentional Networking & Roundtable Discussions

Meaningful connections. Shared perspectives. Conversations that matter.

We've designed networking to go beyond exchanging business cards and encourage genuine interaction and shared learning.

During the networking session, attendees will explore interactive discussion stations featuring topics and questions prepared by the MPI Toronto Chapter's Professional Development Committee. Share your experiences, cast your vote, and help identify the topics you'd most like to discuss.

Following networking, attendees will break into facilitated roundtable discussions based on the interests and priorities identified by the group.

It's an opportunity to exchange ideas, explore shared challenges, learn from industry peers, and contribute your own experiences to meaningful conversations.
